Missing Malaysian jet MH370: New French satellite images add to growing signs search is narrowing
Gulf News ^ | 03/23/2013

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: New French satellite images show possible debris from a missing Malaysian airliner deep in the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia said on Sunday, adding to growing signs that the plane may have gone down in remote seas off Australia.

The latest lead comes as the international search for Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 entered its third week, with still no confirmed trace of the Boeing 777 that vanished with 239 people on board.

"This morning, Malaysia received new satellite images from the French authorities showing potential objects in the vicinity of the southern corridor," the Malaysian Transport Ministry said in a statement. "Malaysia immediately relayed these images to the Australian rescue co-ordination centre." The statement gave no details as to whether the objects were in the same vicinity as the other possible finds in a vast swathe of some of the most inhospitable sea territory on Earth.

The first visual sighting of objects that might be linked to the plane boosted search operations on Sunday. Australian officials said a wooden cargo pallet, along with belts or straps, was spotted Saturday in a remote stretch of the southern Indian Ocean that has become the focus of an intense international search in recent days.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Sunday there was "increasing hope" of finding the plane.

FROM CBS News:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/malaysia-airlines-flight-370-more-images-show-possible-jet-debris-in-south-indian-ocean/

The new information given to Malaysia’s government and forwarded to searchers in Australia shows “potential objects” in the same part of the ocean where satellite images previously released by Australia and China showed objects that could be debris from the plane, Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport said in a statement without providing further details.

Wooden pallets and straps are integral to 99% of maritime commerce, but that won’t stop the usual suspects from leaping on this “evidence” to feed yet another round of lunacy.

This should be good for a least an hour of video on CNN showing what a pallet is. They could throw one in the water to show how it floats.

Then BOR can spend an hour and a half complaining about CNN’s pallet coverage.

Would be fascinating and viewer-drawing to determine how many CNN correspondents it takes to make the pallet no longer float.

I would love to know how a pallet, which is made of wood held together by nails, could survive a 500 mph crash when the rest of the plane did not.

it could be very well the airplane debris but you know, I don’t believe most of the media anymore for as far as I know, this could all be an orchestrated ploy to hide the real airplane “incident”...like it being flown to Pakistan or Iran....

Perhaps I’m wrong, but aren’t airplane freight pallets made of aluminum? To conserve weight?

Yeah, but they said the word ‘satellite’! It just HAS to be true! Besides, we know no one an post anything on the Internet that isn’t true. That, and several posters on FR are convinced the plane is in Paki because someone on TV said so and they said the DoD said it.

Aircraft cargo pallets are made of aluminum, and weigh about 270 pounds.

I have it on very good authority that the plane was not flown to Pakistan. It was flown to a secret NSA facility in Nevada where it is being turned into the centerpiece of a fun park for NSA employees. The passengers are being used as slave laborers to run the park.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/french-satellite-sees-objects-missing-malaysia-airlines-flight-article-1.1731001

Mike Barton, chief of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s rescue coordination
center, told reporters in Canberra, Australia, that the wooden pallet, which was spotted
Saturday, was surrounded by several other objects, including what appeared to be
strapping belts of different colors......

“We went to some of the expert airlines and the use of wooden pallets is quite common
in the industry,” Barton said. “They’re usually packed into another container, which is
loaded in the belly of the aircraft. ... It’s a possible lead, but we will need to be
very certain that this is a pallet because pallets are used in the shipping industry as well.”.....

End snips

By now there must be enough military ships arriving in that area to get alongside the debris for an ID or better yet, weather permitting, pull it aboard.
We should have the best info within a few days.
Ships can stay on scene 24 hrs /day, planes can't.- Tom

“Perhaps I’m wrong, but aren’t airplane freight pallets made of aluminum? To conserve weight?”

No, actually you are right on the money. The 777 uses a system of metal containers. All cargo goes into the containers. No wooden pallets are used. They would not fit and if you tried to use them it would damage the plane. Mr. GG2 used to build planes at Boeing in WA. He says zero chance wooden pallets used on that plane.

This is all a campaign of disinforation to stall for time til the powers that be figure out how to try to get that plane back from whoever took it. Its likely in Pakistan or Iran.

PS: Isn’t it odd that the media like CNN or Fox cannot simply get an engineer from Boeing to quickly confirm that the 777 does not use wooden pallets? Funny huh? Instead they just keep repeating this giberish.

The captain flew it to the back 40, performed a belly landing and sank it mostly intact. The passengers were already dead and buckled in from the 45k’ climb that starved them of oxygen when the packs were turned off. They won’t find wreckage on the surface.

You are correct but passenger aircraft typically carry their cargo and bags in alum bins. Flat pallets are used on cargo aircraft.
