Michelle Obama says internet access should be 'universal right'

Michelle Obama has declared that access to the internet should be a universal right, in a rare and controversial foray into the world of international politics during a cultural visit to China.

The US first lady, who is on a week-long trip to the communist state with her daughters and mother, risked upsetting her hosts in Beijing by declaring access to information as a birthright. During a speech at Peking University's Stanford Centre, she called for greater freedoms while refraining from a direct attack on the controls over information in China.

The so-called "great firewall of China" blocks access to internet sites deemed sensitive, while a vast censorship machine swiftly deletes content considered objectionable. Twitter and Facebook are both blocked.

Next up: Obama-net (it’s not a tax, but you’ll have to read it to know what’s in it).

When the government establishes a “Universal Right” that means free goodies for the “deserving.” Free ObamaPhones, free ObamaCare, free ObamaNet, etc. All others must pay or face tax penalties.

They’ve managed to put a computer and access in every school in the nation. So what. The kids can’t write or make change.

But they're well versed in sex ed, pornagraphy and gaia worship! What kind of jobs do you think the liberal demonrats are preparing them for?

She means that it should be free for anyone with dark skin, and that light-skinned people should pay for it.

Nothing can be a right that requires someone else to provide it.

We’re not talking God-given rights here. “Universal Rights” are government-given, meaning they will be paid for with OPM (other people’s money).

Only after ponies are a universal right. I still want my pony. The internet will have to wait its turn in line.

Don’t forget the computers in libraries too! Everybody has the right.
Do people actually “read books” in the library anymore?

What about the right not to be killed? Is that a universal right?

Of course, only armed people are in any position to exercise that right, and you want to disarm the hoi polloi, so I guess life is not a universal right in your little world.

God made man, but Sam Colt made them equal. (Popular saying in the latter part of the 19th century.)

“Nothing can be a right that requires someone else to provide it.”

Startling.

It took me about three jumps to get all the way down inside that one.

I’ll be plagiarizing it. If you want to sue, I’m sure any mediocre hacker can tell you all you need to know about me—probably including the brand name of my keyboard.

Privacy. Right. Was there ever such a thing?

i know I didn’t provide a lot of reasoning. I am used to posting on liberal boards, and they can’t understand any involved thinking.
