The article stated nothing was retrieved and markers were being dropped by planes so ships could return to the area to pick up the debris. Wouldn’t the debris shift? Would the markers follow them?

Have not retrieved, but have spotted and marked with a smoke flare.
Since it is now night in the area, they will regroup in the morning.
