Full title: Unrepentant Pro-Life Sign-Destroying UC-Santa Barbara Prof Formally Indicted; Press Attention Is Minimal
In another development most of the establishment press, with the usual exception of Fox News and the unusual exception of Reuters, has thus far predictably ignored, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced on Friday the indictment of University of California-Santa Barbara Associated Professor Mireille Miller-Young on charges of "theft from a person, battery, and vandalism." The case's first hearing is scheduled for April 4.
To bring those who didn't see your truly's Monday post up to speed: "As seen in a video at the YouTube site of the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust (warning: profanity), a UCSB assistant professor (MIller-Young) took a sign away from a participant in a campus pro-life outreach effort. Flanked by two students, she took the sign back to her office and destroyed it." Excerpts from the Reuters report by Laila Kearney follow the jump (bolds and numbered tags are mine):

Sounds like a stack of misdemeanors.
How about inciting a riot, and terroristic threats, and stalking?
What lsm attention? Now had the tables been turned, the pro-lifers would have been racist haters and charged with A&B with intent to inflict great bodily harm with the additional hate crime caveat attached.
Okay Mr. President — One of these people acted “stupidly” to use your words, was it; A: Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley or B: University of California-Santa Barbara Associated Professor Mireille Miller-Young.
When my husband went to school, the burning of the Bank of America was the site of awe. Now, I bet where this devil-spurned, government subsidized professor interrupted and stole these abortion survivors sign will be the new leftist touristic site of awe.
Throw the book at her... Better yet, her books. Will she be suspended or disciplined in any way by UCSB? Doubtful...
Another hyphenated-name women’s studies prof... That’s a red flag warning for craziness.
I'm holding out for "hate crime", but I'm sure I'll be holding out for that until I'm dusty in the grave......
Uh huh. I wonder what the media response would be if it had been a pro-life advocate charged with multiple criminal counts for attacking a pro-abortion demonstrator.
About 20 years ago there was an article in Time about how genetic scientists may one day be able to determine personality traits from fetal tissue samples. They specifically mentioned that a propensity toward criminal behavior as well as homosexuality could be discovered in fetal DNA. Well, if there really IS such a thing as a “mean gene” or a gay gene they will be discovered and all the hand-wringing and pontifications over medical ethics will not prevent someone from spiling the beans. Then it will only be a matter of time before a woman seeks an abortion only because her doc told her the “unviable tissue mass” she’s carrying may one day turn out to be a serial killer or gay, or both (remember John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer?). Then let’s see how fast professor hyphen and all the feminazis turn into pro-lifers.
