SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The problems refugees face after relocating in Sioux Falls are relatively mundane compared to what they faced at home.
But an unfamiliarity with household appliances and cleaners, for example, is a real hurdle. A new housing orientation program by one of the citys largest property management companies is explaining these everyday necessities.
More refugees are coming to Sioux Falls every year, and with them come different cultures.
Weve got to embrace it, said Tannen Loge, vice president of property management for Lloyd Cos., which has more than 3,000 apartments in Sioux Falls. Its very important that we provide housing for individuals that feels like their home.

Isn’t diversity great.
“This white thingy over here is called a toilet.....”
Yep. 400 new “refugees” this year. 400 new democrats next.
So we need to build them card board houses?
Well, if you leave them to there own devices, they start a cooking fire in the middle of the front room.
Who would choose to go to S.D., unless this is a PLANNED, SYSTEMATIC attack using immigration of no-skilled humanoids as the weapon that keeps on killing/using/sucking/taking/polluting/stealing/eating/VOTING...
I’ll expect to see new ‘citizens’ cooking meals on little gas stoves on the floor of commuter flights soon, like they did back home.
Yet at the same time, I am looking at a farm property that “boasts” a working outhouse... and I would love nothing more than to scrap the stupid glass flat top range and install a wood cookstove.
Do you also teach them how to use a toilet!
You wouldn’t believe how often you see shoe prints on the ceramic.
Unusually, I’m not kidding.
I know. I remember a story about a US company setting up a farm south of the border being nonplussed that the field hands did not know how to use a port-a-potty or toilet paper
A couple of weeks ago, a house full of Mexicans were overcome with carbon monoxide poisoning because they used a charcoal grill inside the house to keep themselves warm. They didn’t want to tell the landlord that they had run out of propane because they couldn’t afford to refill the tank.
And YES, no joke, they had to be shown how the toilet works.
One of the scenes that stuck with me was one refugee wasn't sure what to do with Ritz crackers.
So he opened the box, emptied out the crackers, crushed them up with a wooden spoon and poured milk on them.
He seemed to enjoy it.
AKA GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS?
We need one in the San Diego and Yuma areas to teach them to put the paper in the toilet. Unfortunately no, this does not have a sarcasm tag.
I dated a girl long ago that was paid to teach the women how to use girls hygiene products
A neighbor brought a supposedly middle class Mexican woman home with him for live in sex and cleaning. She has no idea how to cook in an “inside kitchen”. Everything in her “cuisine” seems to require burning and smoke. Their kitchen is literally dripping with sooty grease.
Nothing new about this. After ‘Nam, many Hmong tribesmen and their families were relocated to San Diego — they were US allies and would have been slaughtered by the VC if we’d left them there.
Anyway, they were given nice tho modest little houses, and social services discovered they were ignoring the kitchens and building fires in the middle of the living room floors for cooking. Had to teach them otherwise.
I don’t think anyone here would begrudge those immigrants anything.
Maybe some of the current immigrants are good guys too. Maybe.
But she’s a sex pot so it’s worth it to him???
(Cream of scorch tacos anyone?)
