Judicial Watch plans to sue states with dirty voter rolls; Obama’s DOJ plays dead
BizPack Review ^ | 03/25/2014 | Michael Dorstewitz

Judicial Watch put two states and the nation’s capital on notice that it will file a federal lawsuit if they don’t clean up their voter registration rolls within 90 days. Iowa, Colorado and the District of Columbia have one thing in common — they have more registered voters than people eligible to vote.

Judicial Watch officials said they sent letters to the secretaries of state in Iowa and Colorado and the Board of Elections supervisors in the District of Columbia, saying:
"We write to bring your attention to violations of Section 8 of the National Voter Registration Act (“NVRA”) … This letter serves as statutory notice that Judicial Watch will bring a lawsuit against your office if you do not take specific actions to correct these violations of Section 8 within 90 days. In addition, by this letter we are asking you to produce certain records to us which you are required to make available under Section 8(i) of the NVRA. We hope that litigation will not be necessary to enforce either of these claims. "

Iowa has more people on the rolls than are eligible to vote?

You’re going to have to prove that to me.

Iowa has more people on the rolls than are eligible to vote?

And probably they all vote - two or three or more times.

Do the states have authority over voter ID?

I have held the opinion that the federal government should require that states purge their voting rolls after the Feb 1st following a presidential election. Then require all voters to re-register with proof of residency and proof of citizenship via state or federal identification. Voter registration should be cut off 60 days prior to an election and not re-opened for registration until 15 days after an election.

“Illegal aliens registered via motor voter are not eligible to vote”
That’s what they tell you until someone actually checks to see if it is true. Wasn’t Michigan where they checked and found that all the illegals with drive licenses actually were registered?
Government always does this to you. They say “we can take this right from you or do something stupid because we have this safeguard in place” then once they vote it in the safeguard is quietly removed and you get the consequence that the nay sayers said you would get.

Larry Kleyman is a clown who abuses the system...but once in a while something good comes as a byproduct of his tenacity. Maybe this will be one of those times.

You mean Matt Schultz? Strawn was the former RPI chair.

Have you been in a hole? Schultz has been attacking the problem any way he can. In fact the Dems have attacked him for doing it. The articles are all over FR even.

Until we get control of the Senate, there’s not much the SOS can do. You’re either a liar or a dumbass, or both.

Joe Grandanette, is that you?

*******************

Klayman left Judicial Watch back in 2003 to run for the Senate from Florida.
He and JW have had a few lawsuits against each other in the past few years.
