WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court appeared poised on Tuesday to open the door to companies' religious-based objections to government regulations as justices weighed whether business owners can object to part of President Barack Obama's healthcare law.

It was unclear whether the companies objecting to the regulation requiring them to provide insurance coverage that includes contraception would win overall, but a majority of the nine justices seemed ready to rule that companies had the same religious rights to object as individuals do.

In one of the biggest cases of the year, the court heard an extended 90-minute oral argument, 30 minutes more than usual. A ruling is expected by the end of June.

Court “signals” mean exactly squat.

If they ruled for Citizens United, then they will have to rule in favor of Hobby Lobby and others like them.

Exactly right. Remember when the court "signaled" that Obamacare was dead?

I no longer trust the USSC to properly interpret and enforce the Constitution. Especially Roberts. (The rest of the LIEberals on the court never would either ... never have, never will.)

This is sure to confuse the low information voters
who have been told over and over again
by the media and the administration
that the supreme court has already determined
that the affordable care act is constitutional.

The gay militants went this far with the fight over the St Pats day Parade, or the Ancient Hibernians brought it, not ones to ever shrink from a fight, heck, they’re Irish, and now, because they won, tgey never have to revisit it.

The gays go to the parade and spit at them from the sidewalk and cause a lot of ruckus, ESP when emboldened by the city mayor, who shows no respect for the court, but the parades teches without a stitch of trouble or fuss, and its the gays who end up being seen as bullies by no more a cynic than even imus.

If this turns out the same, there’ll be some peace. Another cultural battle will come up but this one will be over

Today is a huge feast day in the Catholic Church. Just saying..,

If they rule for Hobby Lobby, expect many privately held firms to follow suit. Obama cannot fight them all.

Signals could mean anything, BUT if we do see the court rule in favor of religious freedom, that opens the door to striking down these ‘non-discrimination’ laws in states like Oregon. The presecution of Christians must end now!

If we have to repeal and retract the ACA one law at a time, so be it. This could be the law that keeps on giving, election after election.

“because they won, they never have to revisit it.”

Not the case. Remember, one court ruling upheld sodomy laws, then another threw it out.

What is bothersome to me is something that has not been mentioned.

INDIVIDUAL RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

As an individual, I should not be forced to purchase any insurance that offers birth control and/or abortion services.

My Individual religious freedom does not begin when I become employed by an “exempt organization”.

Why is this not brought up?
