Desperation time. This is isn’t about saving the president or congress in 2014. It’s about keeping the Democratic Party viable for 2016 and saving Hillary’s presidential bid.
I wholeheartedly disagree. This is a two-step process, with step one being the most important - 2014. If the Republicans capitalize on Obamacare and increase their numbers in the House (meaning in 2016 there would be no way to lose the House) and take over the Senate, the Republicans will control the dialogue over the remaining two lame duck years of Obama's presidency. That is HUGE! Bills in the House will be brought to the floor of the Senate.
Limiting what Obama can do in his last two years is also pivotal to precluding a Hillary presidency. They will have two years to put the dossier together on Lybia, Russia, Egypt, Syria and other failed foreign policy efforts - she owns them.
