I read at night where several years ago I just sat like a zombie in front of the TV.

I read about that too. I am glad you're better, but I never thought you were a real zombie.

I am more likely to chew on the cable than those numbers.

There is no better experience than watching TV programs on a big screen TV.

I can get the TV programs through desktops and laptops and even a smartphone, but, I always “rebroadcast” that signal via an HDMI connection to the TV, or through Chromecast. No tiny screens for me. And yes, even my desktop’s 24 inch monitor seems small to me.

German Woman, Dead Six Months ... Found in Front of TV
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3137777/posts

BERLIN (Reuters) - The corpse of a 66-year-old German woman who died more than six months ago was found in her apartment, in front of a television set that was still on, the Frankfurter Neue Presse newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The woman, in the town of Oberursel near Frankfurt, died of natural causes in a nightgown while watching TV. There was a program guide from September nearby, the newspaper said, describing the body as “partially mummified”.

Imagine being a member of her family if she had any. How could you miss 6 months of family activities? I talk to my family every week at least.

Two years ago, we decided that since we weren’t watching that much TV that we would cancel our cable. (No regrets, believe me)

Kid was 15 years old at the time. It took him 2 weeks to notice.

(For those of a certain age - how long would it have taken you to notice your parents had cancelled their TV connection? In my case, it would have been about 5 minutes)

Incentive: Add up the cost of a cellphone with a data plan and your landline phone and the cable & internet bill then x it by 5 years.... shocking! I estimated mine at $12 to 15 thousand! I coulda bought a new car or used it as a down payment on a house!

You will then cut the cable tv and ditch the landline and get the internet only then the get T-Mobile $30 plan with 5gb 4g data that slows to 3g afterwards if used up before the month is over. You get only 100 mins but you can get the google voice app to use your data for phone calls.
Uses 1mb to 3mb for one minute of calling.
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans

$35 + $45 (includes tax)= $80 a month and you have phone and internet and tv (need wifi enable tv with multiple wifi and hdmi ports)

Go here among other sites for many shows. http://watchseries.lt

Did you do the AirPlay first, and then go to the app?

TVs been boring for decades. You can count the good shows on a single hand. I love the internet and the ability to delve deeper into a subject. TV is so passive, plus I think it works to desensitize you.

Compare Dick Van Dyke Show with Seinfeld. It just gets worse year after year. TV is for dummies.

I have family in the advertising business.

They are very, very, worried about the future. To the point they are lobbying hard to have commercials required by law to be in all media.
