Mistake for driver to get out of car. When he did that, the lady couldn’t leave with the car due to him being outside in the mob.
I would have driven the only way out fast and if that killed the attackers, so be it, those won’t attack any more. That was kill or be killed in my opinion.

Better alternative: floor it. Seriously, if you are being attacked by a mob, and you are in a 1.5 ton projectile, use it. At that point, when you are surrounded by a mob, there is a 50/50 chance that the mob will try to murder you, so by pushing aside or running over a dozen of them to make your exit, you are doing a reasonable thing.
Especially if you have children with you.
