U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder strongly hinted on Thursday that the government will soon determine if George Zimmerman will face federal civil rights charges in the 2012 killing of Trayvon Martin.
A self-appointed neighborhood watch patrolman, Zimmerman was acquitted by a Florida jury of murder charges last year and soon thereafter the federal government announced that the Justice Department would be probing the case for any civil rights violations that might have occurred.
The 17-year-old Martin was unarmed and just steps away from the doorsteps of his father's gated community home when Zimmerman ignored a police dispatcher's stern advice to cease with following the teen, whom he later admitted he thought looked suspicious because he was wearing a hoodie.
"We are still in the process of doing the kinds of investigative things and analysis that are necessary before we can make the determination," Holder told MyNews13.com. "So that matter's ongoing."
In a video released just last week, Zimmerman claimed he now wants to attend law school and perhaps become a civil right attorney, even though since being acquitted he's and several run-ins with police, including being arrested on domestic violence charges.
Think George Zimmerman should face civil right charges? "Tell us @SportsWN"
He only has to look at Louisville, KY to see what this asininity has encouraged already.
There’s nothing I know of in the case that would make such a thing stick in any sane court. However courts are not all sane any more.
He really is an effin retard.
Probably will end up sharing a cell with OJ.
The oppinion of the majority of the people in this country just don’t seem to matter anymore.
This is a pant-load.
Sounds like he’s doing a lot of arm twisting.
oh no, please God, I just realized that he could schedule a trial to run around the same time as the November elections that can whip up the base.
Do it, holder. Might inspire a few folks to express themselves directly on your incompetence and racism.
According to BOR that was just a bunch of “teens.”
Zimmerman’s attorneys should introduce the myriad instances of feral urban yutes playing “knockout” as evidence, along with Trayvon’s history of criminality and say “Hey Eric, it was justified. Tell your people to stop behaving like animals and we’ll all be better off for it. It wasn’t George’s fault that Trayvon chose to be a piece of garbage and live the life of a criminal.”
If Holder goes after Zimmerman it’ll be open season on taking out the trash all across this land. Preemptive glock-out to stop the knock-out.
Get Whitey Holder is racist #1.
Apparently, GZ has no civil rights.
Said like a real hick (salute to hicks)
Someone oughtta take out a full page ad in the Washington Times if the ComPost won’t take it.
We aren’t going to worry about the sensibilities of a career criminal... Tray was not innocent.
This is beyond absurd.
Eric Holder is the most politically driven AG in history by far.
And with regard to civil rights, he only cares about “his people”.
His people continue to play knockout king and he does zero, just like his boss.
I pray he goes to prison one day.
Hicks are tired of being nagged, too?
I suppose. Nagging is an offensive action.
The BS and lies never end.
It would be awfully hard to get all the pieces in place in only six months. Remember, Zimmerman’s lawyers are well aware of the politics behind such an action and they would make it a point to delay things nicely. Lots of options to do so, too.
“when Zimmerman ignored a police dispatcher’s stern advice to cease with following the teen”
The article is pure BS. But on the other hand, Holder’s InJustice Department is not bound by the rule of law. They make up the rules as they go along, for not.
Holder’s own criminal past will eventually devour him. Just wait.
