I've been thrown off my health insurance -- THANKS, OBAMACARE! -- and have spent hours and hours over the past month trying to figure out my options now that the Democrats have made my old plan, which I liked, "illegal." (I prefer to think of my plan as "undocumented.")
Whom do I bill for the hours of work Obamacare forced me to perform? How about you, Mickey? You're the smartest living liberal (faint praise), and you assured us that Obamacare was going to be fantastic.
By now, Obama has issued "waivers" from Obamacare to about 99 percent of the country. (Perhaps you've heard, there's a big midterm election this year.) As one of the few Americans not granted a waiver, I'm here to tell you: You have no idea what's coming, America.
I thought I had figured out the best plan for me a month ago after having doctors and hospital administrators look at the packets of material I was sent by my old insurance company -- the same mailing that informed me my old plan was "illegal" under Obamacare.
But when I checked online recently, I discovered the premier plan -- the "platinum," low-deductible, astronomically expensive plan that might be accepted by an English-speaking doctor who didn't attend medical school in a Hawaiian shirt and board shorts -- does not include treatment at any decent hospitals.

I'm sorry but as bad a candidate as Romney was, there is absolutely not excuse for the US population to have re-elected Obama, none, we knew what we were getting! If someone didn't vote they may as well have voted for Obama. Coulter had nothing to do with it.
Let me explain: Going to a car dealership and haggling for a Deal starting from the MSRP is more transparent to the customer than obtaining healthcare in America. When you go to the hospital you provide them all your financial data, life history for health and work, plus any insurance and forms of payment, all before you receive treatment. Only after treatment are you informed of the cost. That cost is set by a hospital administrator or the doctor, who knows what you can afford and they still gerrymander your final co-payment if they can squeeze one from you. At least with the Car Dealer and Salesman, they work from your Credit Score, and you finance or pay for the vehicle before you receive it. The healthcare in the United States costs a different price for each and every customer or patient as one prefers to see those who are treated.
Where is Dental Care and Eye Care - are they not more important to far more people than contraception and abortion?
Why did the politicians shield Consumer Price Schedules or prevent laws from making Medical Costs Transparent, as say the menu at McDonalds or Burger King? While there are variables, build into every patient's bill is the overhead that the Administrators approve before sending out a bill, which in all likelihood is based on the information you already provided on insurance(s) coverage and employment/income sources.
If the Conservative Base is going to reverse ObamaCare, it must start with transparency in Pricing. A good place to start might be with what Medicare will pay for a certain procedure, or what Aetna/Coventry Health Care Insurance would pay, and find a level of profit not exceeding the 7-8% the Oil Companies are subjected to not exceeding as fair compensation for all patients. Broken arm with two hours treatment, $750 or a pair of glasses (available from Bejing for $58 with single lens multifocal prescription) for $120.
I know some the pricing ideas may trample the free market, however, those who determine not to participate in receiving insurance are already charging their customers higher rates - capitalism at work. But for those with insurance, the amounts billed should be standardized.
A final thought on the health care debacle. I believe that the socialists ideas on crony-capitalism exhibited in the Auto Industry bailouts is evident in the healthcare industry as well, given that all payments are tied to the insurance company's which in turn will ensure (insure) that an entire sector of the economy remains viable without defaults.

If you believe that Michelle Bachmann would have received more than 47% of the vote in 2012, God bless you, it must be great living in the land of unicorns. She would have been lucky if she broke 40%. That is not a criticism of her personally, but a statement of reality. Next time you are out in public, look and see the hordes of slobs walking all around you, and then reassess your statement.

One of the main goals of ObamaCare was, in fact, to have this happen.
I don’t claim to be a psychic or a genius but I DID tell everyone who would listen back in 2009 that if this mess was passed it would mean the end of health care in America and there would be no real health care for anyone except a few elite. I said that without knowing one actual word of the proposed legislation, what I did know is something of the history of government and what to expect from government. Everything I see and hear now seems to confirm that.
The brain drain exiting the profession has already started. Hubby and I are out as soon as we can afford. It may be too late already....
