It’s also a Carbamate by DuPont, and we used it too, for certain applications, but is fatal to humans and dogs. I had syringes with atropine antidote, just in case, until we could get anyone affected, to a nearby hospital’s ER. Very highly restricted and limited use, and you’re right that it kills EVERYTHING.

I buy large (2gal) jar of peeled garlic cloves, put them into Ball jars w/ EVOO, and nuke the jars in a microwave for 2-3mins per jar. After nuking numerous times, all the bitter garlic oil transfers to the EVOO, and you have great cooking oil. The garlic cloves turn purple and very SWEET, and I eat them as is, like candy. It does come out of the pores in warm/hot weather.

I’d sit in my office w/ windows & doors open, and Dad would walk in and say, “What the hell died in here?!” I just smiled. In the hot months, when the AC was on, my Marlboros masked the garlic smell. Never had a customer complain, and I gave several ladies a Ball jar of purple cloves and oil.

I still have 5 Ball jars in my ‘fridge full of garlic cloves & oil, and use them when cooking or just pop a few sweet cloves to munch on.

Buy roasted garlic here:

Whoops, wrong site for whole roasted garlic. You store should have whole peeled cloves in 2gal jars.

This site doesn’t sell peeled/roasted cloves anymore; damn.

As soon as ground temps hit 45-50°F, usually mid-April, insect eggs wintering-over in soils will begin to hatch at 50°F, and you can see grass growing, that's the time to drench the lawn soils.

Two heavy drenches, 10-15 days apart are best. That will usually take care of ticks hatching first, and fleas, later. It does not work on eggs, so flea hatchlings must be active. Adult ticks can be killed anytime, but their eggs also require hatchlings be active.

IT IS DEADLY TOXIC TO FISH SO KEEP AWAY FROM WATER GARDEN, especially if lawn-rain runoff gets into pond.

Grass begins growing when soil temps hit 50-52°F, so that should be the sign to spray. Keep animals and humans off the affected areas for 3-4 days, until all chemicals are absorbed by soils and lawn root system.

3-4 days? Wow, I thought it was just one day. Thanks for all the advice!

If the weather’s dry and sunny, it’ll dry quickly and may be safe for pets after 2 days. I always err on the other side of safety when it comes to toxic chemicals.
