I can see renaming it if it had an offensive name like Chink Fish but it’s a name describing where it’s from. Cmon.

What about white perch? black drum? What does Shad think of shad? Are cats offended by catfish? Are carpenters offended by hammerhead sharks?

As an Italian cook, I’m always checking out whether something is edible and the best way to cook it.

Let’s call it the “Oriental Carp” and be thoroughly politically incorrect.

It doesn’t matter if they’re edible if people don’t want to fish for them. I doubt they would come anywhere near sustaining the 6 to 10 billion dollar sportfishing industry in Michigan.

While they are at it they should reconsider their state Motto. (Ten thousand lakes)

They need to be more considerate:

“Ten Thousand Lakes; But not as many as Wisconsin.”

Ah, sports fishing. That immediately makes me think of pike. Great predator fish. Carp just tends to lay there.
