After first blocking Twitter, Turkey has now also blocked access to YouTube, according to numerous reports. The action comes after a recording allegedly containing audio from a meeting among many top Turkish officials was leaked onto the Google-owned service.
In the recording, the officials can allegedly be heard discussing possible military actions in Syria.
The blocking of YouTube comes a week after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan used a court order to ban Twitter in the country.

Erdogan has one enormous problem....some segment of his party or the government, or the military....is listening into his conversations (every single one of them). In the old days...there was no way to distribute these calls across the nation. Now? In sixty seconds, I can broadcast some corrupt call he had, and hit thirty percent of the population easily.
My bet is that Erdogan has to board a plane in a hurry, within the next four months....leaving with a fair amount of cash. Who will accept him? That’s the million-dollar question.
Glad we’re treaty-bound to defend this freedom-loving nation.
I spent over a year in Turkey, back in the day, and found it to be a fascinating country, steeped in history and with a robust social order. My time was not in the large cities, but rather in more rural areas.
I can only imagine that Mustafa Kemal must be spinning in his crypt at the re-emergence of islam as controlling political thought in Turkey.
