Is Democrat Leland Yee a Full-Blown Gun-Runner for Russians and Islamic Terrorists?
Pajamas Media ^ | 03/27/2014 | Bryan Preston

Posted on 03/28/2014 7:15:05 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

San Francisco Magazine has published highlights of the indictment against Democrat California Sen. Leland Yee. Yee is currently running for California secretary of state, a post from which it now appears that he intended to wage strategic guerrilla warfare until he went off the grid to fight for Islamic rebels himself.

Yee told an FBI agent to give him a shopping list of guns: “Senator Yee asked [the agent] to provide an inventory list of desired weapons [...] [The agent] told Yee he would deliver $2,000,000 cash.”

Yee could arrange from some serious firepower: “[The agent] asked about shoulder fired automatic weapons. Senator Yee responded by saying the automatic weapons are the equivalent to the ‘M16′ Automatic Service Weapon [...] [The agent] asked about the availability of shoulder fire missiles or rockets. Senator Yee responded ‘I told him about the rockets and things like that.’”

Yee took personal responsibility for delivering the weapons: ”Senator Yee said, ‘We’re interested’ in arranging the weapons deal’ [...] and said of the arms dealer, ‘He’s going to rely on me, because ultimately it’s going to be me.’ [The agent] stated he would compensate Yee for brokering the relationship and arms deal.”

Yee was in it for the cash: “Senator Yee said, ‘Do I think we can make some money? I think we can make some money. Do I think we can get the good? I think we can get the goods.’”

Yee masterminded a complex scheme to import illegal weapons: “Keith Jackson [a political consultant who worked as Yee's fundraiser] told [an agent] that Senator Yee had a contact who deals in arms trafficking. This purported arms dealer was later identified. Jackson requested [a campaign donation] on behalf of Senator Yee, for Senator Yee to facilitate a meeting with arms dealer with the intent of [the agent] to purportedly purchase a large number of weapons to be imported through the Port of Newark, New Jersey. During a meeting [...] Senator Yee discussed certain details of the specific types of weapons [the agent] was interested in buying and importing.”

Yee had connection with Filipino rebel groups: ”Keith Jackson advised that Senator Yee had an unidentified Filipino associate who was supplying ‘heavy’ weapons to rebel groups in the Philippines.”

Just ponder that one for a few seconds. Yee has tried to disarm Americans. Behind the scenes he claims that he is arming rebel groups in the Philippines. Which rebel groups? You’ll see on the next page.

These rebel groups:

Including Muslim terrorists: “According to Senator Yee, Mindanao was largely population by Muslim rebel groups who were fighting the federal government. Yee continued by saying the Muslim rebels had no problem ‘kidnapping individuals, killing individuals, and extorting them for ransom.’”

And yet he wanted to arm them, while disarming law-abiding Americans.

In specific the Moro Islamic Liberation Front: “[The agent] asked about the major Muslim organizations in the Mindanao region of the Philippines. Senator Yee responded by saying ‘M.I.L.F.’”

Yee apparently wasn’t making up his arms dealer. It’s a real person. A real Russian person.

And, Russian arms dealers: “According to Senator Yee, the arms dealer source the weapons from Russia.”

Well. Surely having an elected official working on illegal deals with Russian arms dealers to arm Islamic terrorists trying to overthrow a government allied to the United States at a time when Russia is causing global — sorry, regional — problems, isn’t a big problem…?

And neither is this?

Yee yearned for a different life: “Senator Yee stated he was unhappy with his life and said, ‘There is a part of me that wants to be like you [...] Just be a free agent out there.’ Senator Yee told [the agent] that he wanted to hide out in the Philippines.”

This is extraordinary.

It’s at this point in the story that the media will go out of their way not to ask any other Democrats what they knew about Yee and whether they have a culture of corruption.

Leland Yee was always considered a "favorite son" of San Francisco. I am POSITIVE that those "in the know" were WELL aware of the ease at which he could be bought.

There ain't NO politics as corrupt as local politics. I did make that up but it seems appropriate.

Also ANY criticism of him from non-Chinese was AUTOMATICALLY "racist." Win-win for him...until CLANCY lowered the boom!

He must be he’s a democrat.

There is NO question about that.

The city was founded by poor Irish and Italian immigrants--who "let the Chinese count the money" as the saying goes. Thus, unions, all Democrats, WERE big stuff.

San Francisco, actually, was a Republican city for a long time. It was only after the perverts, Communists and hippies started to gain an edge in the ‘60s did it go to the dark side.

I remember taking a trip there in the 90’s and seeing homeless people fighting right as I exited the BART station.

His talents are wasted on the State level, and I suspect the Feds are simply jealous. I see a bright future for him eventually in the upper circles of D.C. power.

If convicted, he’ll probably get a presidential pardon and then join the Fed team, but most likely he’ll strike a plea deal in the next few weeks and make it a smoother transition.

When was it Republican?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_San_Francisco

You will SEE that the city was overwhelmingly Democrat except in 1920 - 1928. That WAS the "makings" of the Great Depression...Al Capone and Prohibition, all that "good" T.V. stuff.

The chart only goes back to 1916. California didn't even get statehood until the September 9, 1950.

This is perhaps the most remarkable story in all my years of watching American politics. A leadership figure in the senate of America's most populous state is charged with being a major arms trafficker. (That he is pro-gun control is just lagniappe.)

I'd expect this in Equatorial Guinea (or in Russia for that matter), but I have a naive disposition to think that we're not like that. That it is not a bigger story is testimony to how useless/biased/timid the legacy media is in this country. If only a young female intern were involved.

Well, it was already in decline by then (the hippie infestation was in full tilt by 1968). I think “Vertigo” is a better example in 1958. I was last there in the early ‘90s where my leftist half-sister gave me instructions in protocol for dealing with the deranged homeless people. When the Mayor, Frank Jordan (1992-96) tried to clean it up, they sacked him for being a “meanie.”

That chart (nevermind the backwards colors) doesn’t tell you anything but the Presidential voting breakdown (if you’ll note, it tended to vote as the nation did until 1960 when it went hard-left and out of the mainstream).

San Francisco was a Republican city for a long time, there were NO Democrats elected Mayor from 1908 until 1964. The same went for the legislature. Casper Weinberger represented an urban SF district in the Assembly. Republicans were either competitive with or held one or both U.S. House seats up until the early 1970s. Again, it was only in the post-1960/64 era when the city moved out of the mainstream (more to the point, families with traditional values moved out or were displaced by singles with radical leftist politics).
