We felt that one. House moving side to side. I'm sure someone will have more detail. USGS reports 5.4 near La Habra (Los Angeles area).
4.5 in Rowland Heights - some depth to it, 9km, not a surface quake
Felt in Huntington Beach..more like a jolt here.
Felt it in Eagle Rock with a heavy jolt. and shaking afterward.
abc has an article about the 5.1 last night - apartment units were tagged for foundational damage in Fullerton. Brea city hall flooded from the busted water main mentioned last night. Waiting for damage reports from the 4.5, downgraded to 4.1, that hit just a bit ago. Cell service went down momentarily same as last night but back up quickly.

article about yesterday 5.1 and today’s 4.1 up at KTLA:
“Before the Rowland Heights-based 4.1 on Saturday afternoon, the largest aftershock from the earthquake was a magnitude-3.6 that struck around 9:30 p.m., according to USGS. Another larger one with a magnitude of 3.4 hit Saturday morning.
Caltech seismologist Dr. Kate Hutton said the number of incidents was expected for an earthquake of that magnitude.
:snip:
The epicenter was not on an obvious fault, Hutton added.
Seismologists said that there was also a 5 percent chance that it was a precursor to a bigger quake

thanks!
Is the “Big One” usually preceded by several smaller quakes?
There have been two magnitude 3’s in the past hour. Not good.I haven’t felt any of those here in Eagle Rock but it seems the intensity is picking up tonight.
Just had another hard shaker a few minutes ago. It did seem to be quieting down a bit today, but tonight has been pretty shaky. Poor dogs...just when they seem to get calmed down, another one rolls through and they’re back in nutzo mode.
I have no idea. I don’t think anyone knows when the biggie will hit. They only know it is over due.
Just noticed a 4.8 in Yellowstone ,Montana.
Yes, acting up around there this morning.
4 earthquakes in map area
4.8 37km ENE of West Yellowstone, Montana 2014-03-30 08:34:39 UTC-04:00 6.8 km
3.1 14km NNW of Challis, Idaho 2014-03-30 07:27:36 UTC-04:00 5.0 km
3.0 35km ENE of West Yellowstone, Montana 2014-03-30 06:36:25 UTC-04:00 1.6 km
2.8 36km ENE of West Yellowstone, Montana 2014-03-30 02:23:48 UTC-04:00 1
And another.
3.1 34km ENE of West Yellowstone, Montana 2014-03-30 09:30:52 UTC-04:00 4.5 km
Thanks. Didn’t notice the others. Oklahoma has been fairly active as of late too.
Looks like some of the faults are waking up.
Wonder what it all means?
Well, the worst case with Yellowstone would be the caldera getting ready to blow.
