Millennials discover the reality of liberal government

When you get what you want, you find out it’s not what you need. That is what Millennials are experiencing right now as the liberal program they voted for in 2008 and 2012 is being implemented. […]

Millennials are now seeing an America they cannot thrive in. The trillion-dollar stimulus and out of control government spending ushered in by liberal politicians produced few shovel ready jobs, while leaving per capita debt at $52,948. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 2013 labor force participation rate of those in their twenties has hit the lowest level on record since 1981. Furthermore, since President Obama took office the number of twenty-somethings who were not in the labor force in an average month climbed from 8,756,000 to 10,511,00, an increase of 20 percent. It is now the highest ever recorded. …

Well, as Forrest Gump said, “That’s whole other country...”

As a group, young voters almost always vote like their parents vote, except just a little bit more to the Left.

Millennial voters are more “Liberal” only because each generation has fewer and fewer white voters.

In 2012, young white voters age 18-30 gave a solid majority to Mitt Romney, just like their parents did.

Even young white women favored Romney over Obama by 49%-48%.

On the other hand, young non-white voters supported Obama by more than 80%.

The Black birth rate is only a little bit above the white birth rate, so that is not an issue politically.

Immigration is the issue.

America has consciously and willfully imported 20 million Socialist voters since the Reagan Amnesty in 1986.

For Conservatives, massive immigration has been a political catastrophe.

Yeah, I kind of wandered off into the ditch I suppose. What I should have said is that liberals deliberately twist the meaning of words just as Ayn Rand warned long ago but Americans in general are becoming very careless about language. How many people do you know who can say something clearly and concisely the first time so that you have no doubt as to what their meaning is? I don’t know many people who have that ability.

That’s not immigration. People aren’t calling it what they are, which is incursion.

In 1973, a high school history teacher told his class of Baby Boomers that they were “all spoiled rotten.” He was right, and he’s still right.

For “what they are” read “what it is”.

Agreed. I lay our language ignorance at the feet of government schools. The Dept of Education should be nuked as well as state teachers’ unions. Let local communities run their own schools. The best educated young people going into college are ofttimes home schooled.

I should have added another 3 zeros to the number. It was $350 billion that no one knows where it went.

I’ve ceased liberal and call them totalitarian leftists at every chance. When questioned, I ask if they know the difference between a classic liberal and a modern conservative is... ;^)

Between you and me I also have a bit of a problem with the term “conservative.” Conservative implies wanting to keep the status quo. I hate the status quo. There’s nothing in the term “conservative that says you’re a lover of freedom. Actually in a lot of countries, “conservative” means those that love the current totalitarian regime. I decided to call myself a (small “l”) libertarian - a lover of freedom and specifically, the free market economy that Adam Smith wrote about (not all that extra baggage people around here try to lay on that term - I guess they get confused between the value and the (capital “L” political party of the same name).

It’s like that old saying...

If you’ve been playing poker for longer than 10 minutes and haven’t figured out who the sucker is... Guess what?

I’ve had to explain to several Brits that a “Conservative” in the USA is conserving classic liberalism. European conservatives are quite different from conservatives here.

I term myself as a constitutional conservative with strong libertarian leanings.

I have 10 nephews in their twenties, and almost all of them have had a hard time getting started.
