Is Obama weak against Putin?
CNN ^ | March 28, 2014 | By Andrew C. Kuchins

(CNN) -- I recall being an undergraduate in Russian Studies at Amherst College when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in December 1979. I was flabbergasted when then-President Carter initially expressed surprise that Leonid Brezhnev and his cronies decided to undertake that ill-fated adventure. Just the little I knew of Soviet history at that time led me to conclude that one should never be naïve about Russia. Wisely, the Carter administration soon implemented a wide-ranging and powerful set of sanctions against the USSR.

By comparison, Barack Obama is now making Jimmy Carter look like Attila the Hun with a series of empty threats and "too little, too late" punitive measures against Putin's Russia.

On February 28, President Obama warned Russia not to take military action against Crimea, and if he did so, serious "costs" would be imposed. A few weeks later, Crimea was annexed to Russia and virtually no serious "costs" have been incurred from U.S. sanctions.

Now Obama and our European allies have virtually conceded Crimea, but again warn Putin that we really mean it this time, that if you take military action in Ukraine outside Crimea, you will be really sorry!

I think the only thing that has surprised Putin is how weak Obama's response has been. The administration was not prepared for the contingency that Putin would act so brazenly.

"I am afraid that day has arrived. Putin's task is to take back what a certain streak of Russian nationalism views as not only rightfully, but sacredly, what should be Russian. Obama may satisfy some supporters and even some critics by taunting Putin and Russia as a "regional power" of no great consequence acting out of "weakness." This will only bait the bear to lash out to demonstrate who is really weak and who is strong. It is a game that Obama is not psychologically equipped to understand, let alone win."

Forget about any pretensions of wanting to prevent IslamoNazi nuclear bomb attacks on America. Forget about Russian military movements. Our government (or whatever its called) thinks it has far, far more important horrors to prevent!

Interesting that this is from CNN. Earlier today I was in a business establishment that had CNN on in the background. I tried not to pay attention to their crap, but their inflection came through loud and clear in support of Obama's strong leadership --

"Earlier today Putin reached out to Obama, seeking a way to resolve the problem in Crimea."

Yeah. Sure. Putin is scared, and he's asking Obama to rescue him.

The posted article seems much more accurate: Obama is in way over his head.

If the Mexican Army advanced into Southern California to take back what was 'rightfully theirs' by some claimed 'broken treaty' (i.e. Guadalupe Hidalgo) obstinately to protect an overwhelming populace of Spanish-speaking Californians, I don't think I'd lift a finger to help the current crop of left wing Californian political fascists fight back no matter how much I disliked Mexico.

So, why should I care about the Crimea that's 8000 miles away from my home?

And that includes Obamacare.

Sometime in the past:

Obama: Mr. President, after the election, I will have more flexibility...

Medvedev: Mr. President, I see. I will make sure to transmit this information to Vladimir Vladimorovich and see that he gets it.

I believe Zer0 sees America’s military as a diversion of money from his Marxist agenda. Thus, a foreign policy is a side show. Zer0 is the ultimate lame-suck. He can do nothing and things are going where he wants. Besides, his Muslim friends are doing his bidding as America and the West are sitting ducks to the evil they represent.

Is Obama weak against Putin? Yes, and by design. The goal is to punish America, even if that takes the form of making himself look like a gelding.

No humiliation is too great IF, in the end, America is brought low. Remember, his mentors were Marxists. They labor to destroy Christianity and capitalism.

——The goal is to punish America——

I would argue to the contrary.

Obama is a pacifist, an antiwar scion of the 60’s. That was the age of the great victory, the war in Vietnam was damned and ended. There shall be no more war. There shall be peace through diplomacy, through accommodation, through compromise. There can be no war because war is abolished, ended for all time.

That is what they believe and think. The destruction of American strength is just collateral damage to the pacifist notions.

I thank you for not spelling out the vulgarity, unlike what library user did. FR does have its standards, you know, and they are good ones.

And no, "fart" is not considered a vulgarity, at least to me.

Sorry, I disagree. I understand your point, and pacifism MAY be a part of his philosophy, but the OVERALL goal is too take America down.

His mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a member of the Communist Party USA and apparently “raised” Obama during his teen years.

Frontpage mag: http://www.frontpagemag.com/2012/jamie-glazov/the-communist-frank-marshall-davis-the-untold-story-of-barack-obama%e2%80%99s-mentor/

The goal, I am sure you know, of Communists in the 60s and 70s was to take down America.

I think this is very, very different from the wrong-headed pacifistic liberalism of people like Jimmy Carter. Carter’s ilk believe in pacifism for the sake of creating harmony and kumbaya moments with our enemies. It is dangerous and ignorant, but not malevolent. I think BO’s approach is done with the very INTENT of hurting the USA.

Why else would he propose cutting our defenses to pre-WWII levels? Why else would he be firing military leaders in what appears to be an unprecedented fashion? Why else would he be celebrating sodomy and other perversions openly in the ranks? Why else would at least TWO military drones just HAPPEN to fall in the hands of the enemy? Why else would we have toothless sanctions against a Russian bear?

This isn’t a “pie in the sky” dream of unity and harmony—it is a deliberate attempt to use the short span of time given to manipulate our defenses to make us weak. AT least that is how I see it.

Obama probably thinks all will work out so he comes out smelling like a rose. You can bet he has a whole crew and half the MSM working out a hundred different propaganda scenarios to cover all the bases. He hasn’t been called to task for anything - it fosters his ego and makes him feel invincible.
