Putin Rules the World While Children Run America

The Obama Administration’s community organizing response to Vladimir Putin’s eastern European aggression continues to stun spectators with its amateurish incompetence. In addition to channeling Neville Chamberlin, and scolding a few Russian Oligarchs through unenforceable sanctions, the State Department has adopted the diplomatic juggernaut of Twitter as the medium for their next useless gesture. Tweeting out a selfie of herself holding a handwritten hashtag, our State Department Spokesperson expressed America’s “support” for Ukraine. Apparently we can’t promise military aid, armaments, or financial aid… But we can send ‘em a tweet!

Like a high-school teenager tweeting support for Justin Bieber, Jen Psaki (the same spokesperson that was unaware China had tested a new missile delivery system) let the world know via social networking that the US State Department is #UnitedForUkraine. Maybe we could dedicate a song on a few local radio shows as our next display of concern over Ukraine’s sovereignty. Or, heck, let’s just put together a play list on iTunes for Ukraine to download… Have we friended them on Facebook yet? Are they in our Google+ circle?

If Putin wasn’t laughing hysterically at America’s Rodney King view of the world before, he certainly is now. It turns out that organizing a world-wide coalition of free nations is a bit more difficult than organizing a few liberal neighborhoods in Chicago; and President Obama is getting a crash course in what the “real world” looks like outside of Liberal academia.

Our World Organizer in Chief took to the news networks to express his parental disproval of Comrade Putin. He sounded a bit more like a liberal college professor scolding George W Bush, than the leader of the world’s most powerful military:

“And because you're bigger and stronger, taking a piece of the country… that is not how international law and international norms are observed in the 21st century.”

Ya wanna bet? Heck, it’s kinda been the norm since the beginning of human history – but I guess since we have a Nobel Laureate as President in the US, everything is different now. Our campaigner in Chief has repeatedly scolded Putin for “ignoring 21st century norms”… as if the Julian calendar had any bearing whatsoever on the aspirations and motivations of despots, tyrants, and dictators. (I’m sure Putin is in the Kremlin, right now, thinking “is this move too 20th Century?”)

“Putin is misreading American Foreign Policy,” Obama continued. Really? Well, let’s see: We did nothing to support our Egyptian allies when the Muslim Brotherhood decided to stage a revolution; we backed terrorists and jihadists in Libya (and took no retaliatory action when those same jihadists murdered our Ambassador); we drew a red line in Syria that we were unprepared to defend; and we have sent out a “hashtag” in response to Russia’s militaristic intimidation of mainland Ukraine… If Putin is under the distinct impression that the US is without a coherent foreign policy, I’d have to say he pretty much has our number.

On the other hand, it is pretty tough to correctly read America’s foreign policy when it is scribbled on the back of Obama’s March Madness bracket.

The real issue is this administration’s tortured sense that everyone in the world thinks (or should think) like we do. Obama’s foreign policy has been conducted with an apparent (and ignorant) belief that the rest of the world is currently pursuing peace and harmony with their neighbors and the “international community”.

The Obama administration seems to think Iran’s grand ayatollahs have called for the annihilation of Israel, because they weren’t hugged enough when they were kids. Our outreach to Jihadists in the Middle East is spurred on by Obama’s childish view that, given a little kindness, Hezbollah would soon be walking hand-in-hand with Jews along the West Bank. And the Left seems to believe that Vladimir Putin can be dissuaded from his Soviet reconstruction by reminding him that it is not currently 1963.

In other words: The Obama Administration is engaged as amateurs against a geopolitical veteran. Contrary to the insulated world of liberal-elite academics, the world does not conduct itself in accordance with the progressive notion of how it should behave. Obama Inc. can pontificate, bloviate, and tweet all the platitudes they want; but in the end, nations willing to use force will be the ones that forge world events in the 21st century.

Hashtags and selfies might be staples of this century, but they’re still pretty ineffective when lobbed at Russian troops.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Thanks to Obama and his merry band of progressive fools, the country is in a very dangerous place. The U.S. is clearly losing its grip in the world. Obama talks about “cost” and “consequences” for other countries but we too are facing gravely serious foreign policy and military challenges owing to the coterie of rank amateurs running wild in the White House.

If and when adults ever return to lead this country, they’re going to have a monumental amount of clean up work to do. The national mess is growing by the day.

Putin “invaded” a tiny territory where he already had a military base and thousands of troops stationed. He still lost control of the whole rest of Ukriane. He’s a failure and a joke. Last year he controlled the whole Ukraine and now he only has on tiny little part of it. Is that supposed to make him some kind of genius? He hasn’t gotten the upper hand on the west at all. He’s isolated himself and his genocidal regime. Nobody gives a crap about Crimea. Russia’s naval power in the Black Sea is limited. Their main naval focus is on the Pacific. Crimea is a sideshow.

I remember when the MSM sighed a huge sigh of relief when their pick for POTUS picked Joe Biden for V.P. slot because the one area the world's smartest guy with the best pant crease did not have any expertise in was foreign policy...

In their eyes the POTUS team was complete...world's smartest guy with the support and guidance of Joe Biden legendary expertise...

They were peeing in their panties with joy that team Obama would remake the world after GW Bush according to them just about destroyed it...

We are now as weak and feckless as a country because of Obama/Clinton/Kerry/Biden as we have ever been...

Can't wait to hear the MSM response when a jihadist nuke goes off in a major US city...of course it will be GW Bush's fault...

As I've posted on other threads, the pesudointellectuals who have come into power today may claim to be "intellectuals," but they are ignorant of the lessons of the history of civilization.

They are products of a deliberately "dumbed-down" citizenry by those who wished to enslave their minds to a counterfeit set of ideas.

That was not the Founders' plan for America. They expected that the ideas of liberty would be passed from generation to generation, in order that the light of liberty, once kindled, would remain bright.

Instead, we risk going back to the "Old World" ideas which preceded the "Miracle of America," because of those who have called themselves "progressives," when, in fact, their ideas are regressive and enslaving.

Would suggest to any who wish an authentic history of the ideas underlying American's founding a visit to this web site, at which an 1872 "History of the Rise of the Republic of the United States" can be read.

This 600+-page history traces the ideas which gave birth to the American founding. Throughout, Richard Frothingham, the historian, develops the idea that it is "the Christian idea of man" which allowed the philosophy underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution to become a reality--an idea which recognizes the individual and the Source of his/her "Creator"-endowed life, liberty and law.

Is there any wonder that the enemies of freedom, the so-called "progressives," do not promote such authentic histories of America?

Their philosophy puts something called "the state," or "global interests" as being superior to individuals and requires a political elitist group to decide what role individuals are to play. In many ways, that philosophy has more in common with Putin's world view than with that of the truly revolutionary views of America's Founders.

In other words, so-called "progressives" must turn the Founders' ideas upside-down in order to achieve a common mediocrity for individuals, thereby accruing more coercive power for themselves.

Yes it does.

“My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you today that I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes.”

Nonsense! “Children” implies innocence or naivety. The scumbags who participate in Western politics know full well the sort of diabolical malfeasance they are fomenting.

Agreed, and I’d say that children are generally much smarter than the things that are employed in our government.

let me get this straight. in order to be “adult” — as opposed to “childish” — the US has to go to war against Russia?

I think the adult thing to do is stop spending money we don’t have on sideshow foreign disputes that don’t concern us and have no impact on our national security.

If you disagree, and think we need to send money and arms to Ukraine, please don’t post any complaints about our national debt

well, you are partly correct and partly wrong

Putin did lose and is losing the Ukraine and pushing the western part further to the EU with his actions (but that's traditional Russian heavy-handedness)

However, Crimea does give him the chance to squeeze Central and Eastern Europe

And finally, Putin has shown up Obama as a loser -- imagine if Reagan were in charge now
