At the time France and England just didn’t want more war/expense/sacrifice. They hoped Hitler would stop at Czechoslovakia, or at most at that plus Poland. They could have opposed Hitler early on, but they thought they could appease him w a couple of countries they didn’t especially care about. It didn’t work.

South Korea, if attacked, needs to have cruise missiles knock out the NK media and communications grid, those guys are useless if they can’t have their propaganda victory. Knock down those big statues and government buildings in downtown Pyongyang and see how they spin that to their prisoners, I mean people

You sound like you know more about it than I do. I was surprised that S. Korea fired back so quickly. It would be nice if N. Korea gets the message. But in all honesty, it would be even nicer if that torture/death state got overrun. The N. Koreans have suffered long enough. It’s time for them to get a break.

SK usually fired back, although they didn’t really respond well to the sinking of the Cheonan

I agree. You would think China would be able to add 2 and 2 and get 4. I mean if they stopped supporting NK and it falls, Korea is united but needs rebuilding, foreign troops gone within a few years, awesome trading partner right on their doorstep.

China would benefit greatly

I see. Hopefully they learned a lesson from Cheonan, and won’t make that mistake again.

I see little comparison between French and British leaders then and our leaders today. The experience of World War I told them America would be there at some point. We, however, are all alone and I refer only to the American people, not our leadership.

You see, the statists of the world have to do something about us because if America elects a leader in the mold of a Reagan, they know their jig would be up.

They wish to make the world safe for statism.

If NK does it again, I suggest they take out the NK media and immediately start broadcasting anti-Kim stuff on those frequencies. Just to goad them a bit

Yeah?

Them peoples is bat Shiite crazy.

I’ll bet if I think about it, they pulled Kuh Ray Zee stuff under Reagan.

Hell, the Komie Chinese had no problem clipping the wing of one our P3’s and downing it under Bush.

But yeah, the message coming back would be a little different.

Problem is their patron, the Chinese, give them a certain cover for their insanity.

They need an attitude adjustment ala Team America....F.A.G.’s....

Obama needs to draw a Red Line! And he needs to do it Now!

Another red line?

These are excellent points. If, however, you can comprehend the Red Chinese leadership’s psyche, you’re way ahead of me. Maybe they think the fall of N. Korea would cause them to lose face? I.e.: a regime they supported couldn’t make it? Your guess is probably a lot better than mine.

Not quite sure of what you’re saying. Maybe I need more caffeine?

I do see similarities, however, between what Vlad is up to and Hitler’s beginning moves. Hitler tried to cloak his land aggrandizement in rational justifications. Vlad, after he got his first chunk of the Soviet Union back, pauses to yak with Obama and others who are—or should be—nervous. He’ll go on being ‘reasonable’ as long as it suits his purpose. Plus he’s playing to liberals #1 weakness: their preference for ‘dialogue’ above all else. So Vlad will give them all the dialogue they want, while he plots his next move.

YMMV.

I want to be clear....if North Korea continues this aggressive posture, we are prepared to slash our troops and veterans health care, close military bases, mothball more aircraft, and furlough our entire civilian DoD workforce for the third time this year. This is not an idle threat.....we mean business.

Yet one more consequence of the Obama-directed power vacuum.

Nature abhors a president who sucks.
