Immigration Reform Is a Moral Imperative
Wall Street Journal ^ | March 30, 2014 | Ralph Reed and Russell Moore

Posted on 03/31/2014 10:12:26 AM PDT by C19fan

Republicans in the House of Representatives—sensing the political winds at their backs heading into the midterm election and distrustful of President Obama's willingness to enforce the law—have opted to do nothing about immigration. Their strategy is shortsighted.

Reform will require moral courage and leadership, but it is necessary. Because of the federal government's failure to secure the border, antiquated policies and a patchwork of conflicting regulations, there are now millions of people who have overstayed visas or crossed our borders illegally. The current system is inadequate for the country's needs, and it is inequitable as well.

Let us take a look at this statement:

But we also must remember that every individual is created in the image of God and precious in His sight. This means laws for how immigrants will enter the U.S. in the future and how those already here are dealt with should acknowledge each person's God-given dignity.

I can take that statement to its logical conclusion and say we should have zero borders and whoever wants to come here should be allowed. Why should Person A be let in and not Person B. Isn't Person B have the same God-Given dignity as Person A?

I do not know anything about Mr. Moore but I do know Ralph Reed sold out for DC filthy lucre a long time ago.

Starting with solid border control and real enforcement is a moral imperative.

The immigrant community is brimming with hard-working, entrepreneurial, family-oriented men and women who yearn for freedom and aspire to be Americans in the fullest sense.

NO, NO, NO!!!! Enough with this BS that immigrants are hard-working and family oriented. Enough with the BS that they aren't going to be a Welfare and transfer payment drag. Enough! If they want to come in and get NO benefits, then fine. But we all know that ain't happening.

Mr. Reed is wrong on his assumption that the lawful should submit to the crimes of other people simply because they think they have a right to commit those crimes.

There is nothing in our Constitution which identifies invasion by a foreign populace as their Right, simply because they did not follow the moral path and thus ended up with a failed society.

Does the Devil have the Right to take over Heaven, Mr. Reed? Simply because the world he made is so awful?

Apparently Ralph thinks Misery Loves Company is an edict from on high.

God made the Nations. It’s in the Bible. Reality reflects it. Those who follow the righteous path..live well.

Should we simply hand over all that was built to the un-Righteous? Let them destroy it?

Don’t think so.

“Oh! Let it by my turn,” sayeth the next in line of “conservative” whores, bought off by the “establishment.” We xenophobic rule of law citizens will not accept the cram down. They are playing with fire. You can trot out one “conservative” after another. We have been down this road before, and will not be duped. RULE OF LAW, BABY! All of them. You want my damn taxes? Then enforce the law and legislate for the citizens, not the criminal aliens. Doesn’t say “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to be on te dole.”

“Reform will require moral courage and leadership, but it is necessary.”

The only reform needed is to return to enforcement of the laws as they existed in 1963.

This is a bill to turn this country into a socialist majority nation. In that type of a country the people who read the Wall Street Journal who printed this garbage pay significantly higher taxes. I think the readership of the WSJ should be asked if they want to pay higher taxes for this and if they do then they should put their money where their mouth is or they should tell the WSJ where to go and cancel and take the Investors Business Daily insteade.

and aspire to be Americans in the fullest sense.

While this may once have been true for most immigrants, and may still be true of some today, for the most part, this statement is demonstrably false. Look no further than those places where muslims insist on making their communities into Saudi Arabia West, or the La Raza demonstrations from just a few years ago, or "Press 1 for English, 2 for Spanish". These are not the actions or behavior of people who seek to assimilate into American culture, tradition, or political belief.

Sorry, but the majority of immigrants to this country today despise what America is, and what it means, and have no intentions of becoming Americans in any sense, other than getting the goodies handed out by the morons and criminals in our government.

The moral imperative is to recognize, codify and enforce the ownership of property.

Mexico and the people of Mexico do not have a claim to US property, not land, education, medicine, nothing! But such a rational principle could lead to the poor not having a claim on the property of the rich, the sick not having a claim on the property of the healthy and the unions not having a claim on the property of the stock holders.

Such a moral imperative would necessitate the end of political class and the redistribution of wealth by any other means than, inheritance, charity, private activities of economic expansion and commerce.

“Immigration Reform” is a bumper sticker slogan that can mean any damn thing anybody wants it to mean.

The country is in the shape it is because people have bought into these mindless stupid bumper sticker slogans even though they cannot name a SINGLE sitting US Senator.

In the name of mental sloth and a horrifically small attention span we have given this kleptocracy and kakistocracy massive power which they do not merit and are not Constitutionally granted and yet we are unable and unwilling to fight against once they see an opening for their anti-American scams. And it is long past time for that to stop.

The right of any nation to preserve its lands & resources for its own posterity is the moral imperative. Having rights to your own achievements in no ways denies any other peoples' "God-given dignity." The idea is a blatant non-sequitur, and well illustrates how the American corporate community is being led astray by focusing on the relatively irrelevant.

It's a moral dilemma aright...

What ???

should acknowledge each person's God-given dignity

obeying immigration laws is dignified..

God is into obeying laws..

God loves laws so much He even wrote a few of His own...

Like You SHALL NOT lie Exodus 20:16

If you lie to enter America or to stay you are not an immigrant...

Youre an illegal alien...

and that's not dignified...

The Lear jet leftists expect to form the core of the global Green Inner Party. There they will continue to enjoy the finest foods and most advanced gadgets the world has to offer — while deciding your fate for you.

If you work very hard and show them your unwavering loyalty you may be permitted to join the global Green Outer Party. You will be allowed occasional servings of meat - and air conditioning on a rationed basis.

The rest of us will eat beans and swelter — for the good of the planet.
