De Blasio booed by Mets fans during 1st pitch

Mets fans greeted Mayor de Blasio with hearty Bronx cheers on Monday, before he left early on the Amazins’ bitter Opening Day loss.

Donning a pinstripe home white jersey and blue Mets cap over dress pants, de Blasio was loudly booed twice by Flushing faithful — once as he was announced and then again as he left the Citi Field diamond.

The wave of boos didn’t get to de Blasio, who kept his cool, kicked and delivered from just in front of the pitcher’s mound.

De Blasio — wearing a No. 6 Mets jersey with his name on the back – tossed a strike to Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud, and flashed a relieved grin that he delivered a corner-painting, Opening Day pitch.

He played off the boos, suggesting that his supporters might have been too cold to cheer.

“As for the response of the crowd, I think everyone is going to be too cold to respond,” de Blasio said, before the Mets 9-7 loss in 10 innings to the Washington Nationals.

“But whatever it is it is, I’m a sports fan. Sports fans have a right to express themselves any way they want.”

This guy has had no honeymoon at all. Also, Mets fans are generally Democrats. Even NYC baseball is politicized.

Exactly. Practically nobody in NYC voted in that election. And now they see just what that’s gotten them.

Chet Lemon threw out the first pitch in Detroit today.

Great game that ended with a walk off single.

This guy has had no honeymoon at all.

Well, even as he was sworn in, "his" people were dumping on Bloomie.

Then, he starts mouthing off about stopping the horse carriages, raising taxes, and something about dropping schools that actually give lower income kids willing to do school work a way off the liberal plantation and join civilization.

Everybody hates Bill de Blasio.

Lassie came running up to Timmy.

“Bark! Bark! Bark!”, said Lassie.

“I know”, said Timmy. “We all hate Bill de Blasio. What kind of man makes up his own name and puts a ‘de’ in it?”

The choices were probably not worth the time to turnout. If Wilhelm keeps up the horrible work, the next participation rate might be a lot different if the right opponent comes along.

Most of the crowd probably voted for him. They only have themselves to blame. He isn’t doing a darn thing he didn’t say he would do before the election.

I have no love for Bloomberg, but a simple "Don't let the door..." would have sufficed, and it wasn't as if De Blasio edged Bloomie in a bitter campaign, either.

One nasty POS being succeeded by a even nastier and more delusional POS..

The cheers-to-boos ratio for DiBlow was unfair.
It did nor reflect a representative cross section of NY City voters ... plus the dead are vocally challenged.
