Is le tea party brewing in France?
Initially a reaction to a same-sex marriage law passed last year, the movement has morphed into the most sustained mobilization of social conservatives here in more than a generation.
A reinvigorated right delivered a devastating blow to Hollande in Sundays local elections across the country.
Tens of thousands of people are taking to the streets in repeated protests, many for the first time in their lives. They are organizing assemblies and social-media campaigns even as some angry newcomers run against incumbents on the right whom they consider not socially conservative enough.
A continent already hit by economic upheaval is confronting a wave of bitter societal polarization over a host of issues such as euthanasia, abortion and same-sex marriage.
The conservative revolution here is far more social than fiscal.
Organizers groused about liberal policies taking root in French schools, saying that a boy had been forced to dress up as a princess for a school party, and that books circulating among children now include one called Daddy Wears a Dress.

Not total conservatives, but pi**ed off at social engineering nonetheless. Anything that burns down the established order of liberal domination is good in my book. Viva La France!
My question is, why can’t such movement take hold in Eastern European countries like Romania and Estonia? Moldova recently tried to institute a homo-propaganda bill, but was forced to back off by the EU. Time to stick it to these thugs!
In other great news, Kyrgyzstan (Central Asia) has now brought to the floor a Russian copy-cat bill, and it is expected to pass!
Why not a White Whine and Brie Party?
N’est-il pas le thé partie?
Ich Kann nicht Französische....
At some point very soon the European welfare state will collapse.
Trying to stave that off a little bit longer is what caused them to make their fool’s venture in Ukraine, which has gone exactly as everyone (except for die hard idiots) who served in the cold war military knew it would.
Desperate people often do really stupid things and European bureaucrats are no exception.
I expect the EU experiment will end the same way the french monarchy ended.

If you read the article, they got it right.

WaPo acknowledges Manif Pour Tous, therefore it exists.
The article says the French version is very different from the american because it is more social than fiscal.
“Gay marriage” isn’t as gay in gay Paree as it thought.
Why not hope both gain? Why should it be a contest.
You may be right. I hope not.] in reply to this portion of my own post:
any republican victory may well be meaningless given that party's near-uniform lack of drive for stated platform-planks.
