Egyptian journalist demands that his government sue Jewish state for heavenly punishments described in Exodus
Bible study meets modern litigiousness in a story that may one day yield a riveting courtroom drama.
Ahmad al-Gamal, an Egyptian columnist for Egyptian daily Al-Yawm Al-Sabi, advocated in the newspaper on March 11 that Egypt sue the State of Israel for damages caused by the 10 Biblical plagues,
We want compensation for the plagues that were inflicted upon [us] as a result of the curses that the Jews ancient forefathers [cast] upon our ancient forefathers, who did not deserve to pay for the mistake that Egypts ruler at the time, Pharaoh, committed, the cranky journalist wrote, according to a translation provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

Moses didn’t curse the Arabs for the 430 years of servitude. Their only claim to a connection with the Copts is through Hagar, Ishmael’s mother.
Can you sue God?
Now that’s funny! And will He answer?
The ancient Egyptians were not Arabs.
And the Jews owe modern Egypt nothing on account of what happened thousands of years ago.
That’s what I was saying.
What, Muslims sue Allah? What would Mohammed say?
If it was left up to the Hebrews they would still be slaves in Egypt. Sue the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.
They should quit while they’re ahead. The next round of plagues might include obamacare.
So this Journalist specifies that God exists, He listens to pleadings from (at least) Jews, answers with Divine power, and has punished those contrary to His will.
My goodness, what would Allah say?
Even so, Arabs have no standing.
If I did sue God, I would get a good Jewish lawyer.
2) Chaotic/Anachronistic laws and rules
3) Over population
4) Military dictatorships
4) Inability to think rationally
If the Egyptians would stop reverting to stupid claims against the Israelis (Israelites) and backward thinking, they MIGHT progress into the 17th Century. As it is right now, they can't seem to remove their noses from their behinds. Claims that sharks seen off the Sinai resort coasts were MOSSAD agents or asking for reparations from the Exodus only reinforces the claim that Egypt is one of the most f***ked up countries on the planet.
Uhhh- April Fool?!
I guess they still haven’t learned from His discipline.
How do you say smite me in Arabic? Let’s chip in and get that put on a T shirt to send to the guy.
Sounds like the guy should eliminate the middle men and demand his government sue God...
Worse, their present (Coptic) descendants are currently being oppressed BY A-rabs.
Must be listening to Obama wants reparations from the Jews and God. Soon the world will hear God’s answer = more plagues rain down on Egypt. What do you expect from a 7th Century believer of Islamic Lunacy!
April Fool ..
All the evidence the judge will need is written down on paper. /S
The Jews should countersue for back wages from slavery. With interest.

Today is April 1st.
I will here give a composite of three slightly varying records of that lawsuit, which appear in Megillat Taanit, chapter 3; Talmud tractate Sanhedrin 91a; and Midrash Bereshit Rabba 41:7. When the world conqueror Alexander of Macedonia was in our region, the Ishmaelites, Canaanites, and Egyptians appeared before him to challenge the Jewish peoples rights.
The Jewish leaders, fearful of the consequences, were unable to decide who should present the case of the Jews. Finally, one Geviha, son of Pesissa, volunteered, saying: If I succeed, you will be able to say the case according to the Torah was so clear-cut that even a nobody like Geviha was able to win. If I fail, you will be able to appeal, saying: We were badly represented by an ignorant nobody.
The Ishmaelites were the first to speak: Your majesty, our suit is based on their Torah, which says (Deuteronomy 21: 15-17), If a man has two wives, one of whom he loves and the other he hates, and his firstborn son is the child of the hated wife when the time comes that he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the hated wife, by giving him a double portion of all he possesses Accordingly, Abrahams firstborn son Ishmael, son of Hagar, Abrahams hated wife, is nonetheless entitled to a double portion of Abrahams inheritance [including the Promised Land].
Alexander told Geviha to respond. He said: Since the Ishmaelites cite the Torah, I will also do so. Your majesty, isnt it true that while a man still lives he may dispose of his property as he wishes? Alexander agreed. And Geviha continued: The Torah reports (Genesis 25: 5-6), And Abraham gave all he had to Isaac. But to the sons of the concubines Abraham gave gifts, and while he was still living he sent them away from his son Isaac, eastward to the east country. The Ishmaelites had no rebuttal and withdrew shamefacedly.
NOW THE Canaanites stepped forward and demanded that what the Torah many times refers to as the Land of Canaan be returned to them. Geviha responded: Your majesty, isnt it true that whatever a slave possesses belongs to his master? Alexander and the Canaanite plaintiffs conceded this point [remember: We are in the third century BCE].
Geviha continued: Well, the same Torah that the plaintiffs cite also says (Genesis 9: 24-25): When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, he said, Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers.
The Canaanites had no rebuttal and left shamefacedly. Now it was the turn of the Egyptians. They said: According to their Torah, 600,000 people [Exodus 12: 40-41 and 38: 36] left our country loaded with our silver and gold [Exodus 12: 35-36]. And the Children of Israel did as Moses had told them, and they asked of the Egyptians jewelry of silver and of gold, and clothing. And God gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked; and they despoiled the Egyptians. That being so, the Egyptians said, we demand the return of the silver and gold the Jews took from us.
Geviha responded: Your majesty, 600,000 people slaved for the Egyptians for 210 years [Midrash Bereshit Rabba 91:2]. The slaves included silversmiths and goldsmiths, whose standard pay today is one dinar a day. We demand the money due to the Jewish people.
The Egyptian philosophers calculated that indemnifying the Jews would leave the Egyptians bankrupt in less than 100 years, and the plaintiffs left shamefacedly.
What has become of the world, when you can no longer distinguish reality from a joke, because “reality” has become some sort of twisted joke?
Fool, yes, but not of the April variety.
Indeed, there is someone wanting to hold Israel accountable for the plagues in Egypt.
I suppose they could tally those damages up, and the Jews could tally up the labor rate for the millions of people enslaved for 430 years. They could even be generous and just quote the minimum wage that ‘bammers wants.
First of all, the plagues were as a result of Pharoh’s intransigence in allowing them to leave. Thee Israelites shouldn’t be responsible for the plagues that were used simply to motivate Pharoh to free themSecond of all, the Israelites can counter claim for the work they performed as slaves
That would mean that this journalist is accepting the Torah’s Account of the event instead of the koran’s Account.
he had better watch it...he might get executed for Blasphemy, apostasy of (heaven forfend) BOTH! hahaha
So then, these Egyptians are claiming that this actually did happen? They’d better watch their heads.
Reparations. 40 acres and a camel.
lol...he better read the latest ‘fatwa digest’ to see if his name is in it.
And if it is not a fatwa yet, just make a new one! LOL
Maybe Israel will sue for slavery for 400 years??
Pharaoh committed ‘mistakes’? Like enslaving a free people, casting male children into the Nile? Chasing after us with horses through a split sea? Seems more like crimes to me. And who carried these crimes out? Ramses II all by his lonesome? Not one Egyptian henchman?
And he wants to sue Jooos! for this? We got good lawyers in our midst. Want a referral?
