AP SOURCES: HEALTH LAW SIGN-UPS ON TRACK TO HIT 7M
AP ^ | 04/01/2014 | By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR and JOSH LEDERMAN

Beating expectations, President Barack Obama's health care overhaul was on track to sign up more than 7 million Americans for health insurance on deadline day Monday, government officials told The Associated Press.

The 7 million target, thought to be out of reach by most experts, was in sight on a day that saw surging consumer interest as well as vexing computer glitches that slowed sign-ups on the HealthCare.gov website.

Two government officials confirmed the milestone, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter ahead of an official announcement.

Seven million was the original target set by the Congressional Budget Office for enrollment in taxpayer-subsidized private health insurance through new online markets created under Obama's signature legislation.

That was scaled back to 6 million after the disastrous launch of HealthCare.gov last fall. Several state-run websites also had crippling problems.

Americans who rushed to apply for health insurance Monday faced long, frustrating waits and a new spate of website ills on deadline day.

Strange how these stats mirror the rosy change in unemployment stats just before the election...

AP’s Word For Today’s System Crash at HealthCare.gov: ‘Stumble’

By Tom Blumer | March 31, 2014

The Obamacare-loving press spares no effort in excusing and minimizing the scheme’s operational, systemic, and law-based failures.

Six months after launch, HealthCare.gov still isn’t functioning as intended. In fact, as of 8:47 a.m. this morning, the time stamp on an Associated Press report (also saved here for future reference, fair use and discussion purposes) by chief wire service Obamacare defender Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar, the web site wasn’t functioning at all. Did the AP reporter tell readers the system had crashed, or was down? Oh heck no (bolds are mine):

Actually at age 65, you are forced into Medicare. That is different though equally as bad

This propaganda piece was written last fall before Obamacare enrollment ever even opened, they set their goal at 7 Million and despite all the problems...well shucky gee! guess what! they just "happen to hit the goal in the final hours of open enrollment, even though three days ago they were 1.5 million behind (even by their own already inflated numbers.) The sad thing is, they know the low information crowd will swallow it without question, that is why they don't care about releasing such a blatant lie. Watch, in about a month after their glowing press coverage has run its course, they will start issuing "corrections" which will cut back the number a couple hundred thousand at a time, (of course these will get nowhere near the coverage of the "Obamacare hit 7 Million" stories).

I just read on a site...they expected the net to be less than 500,000. Big whoop.

And how many LOST their insurance?

I read a report some few months ago that nearly 9,000,000 people in California alone lost their insurance due to Obamacare. Florida another 2.5 Million people lost their insurance and some 800,000 here in Illinois did as well

I had counted it up once after reading through all the states and how many lost their insurance, the number was somewhere between 25-30 million IIRC.

So 7 Million sign up and it's a "success?" Try telling that to all the people who LOST their insurance and can NO LONGER AFFORD it thanks to Obamacare.

Articles like this one (and a very similar one in today's LA Times) are why so few people believe the lamestream media anymore.

Pure propaganda as the “Lewinsky” media get giddy from the shivers up their lying woeful whoreful legs! Obama is not only a liar, he has made all his cult followers liars also. Emperor has no clothes!

How about answers to the following questions (instead of the propaganda):

- How many people have lost their doctor because of Obamacare (remember, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor - period!").
- How many people lost healthcare because of Obamacare?
- How many of those were newly eligible for and enrolled in Medicaid?
- How many of the remaining have enrolled in Obamacare?
- How many have paid?
- What are the demographics of those who have enrolled in Medicaid and Obamacare?
- How many are eligible for a subsidy?
- What is the total amount of subsidies?
- What is the total amount to be paid by paying customers?

- How many people were uninsured before Obamacare?
- How many of those were newly eligible for and enrolled in Medicaid?
- How many of the remaining have enrolled in Obamacare?
- How many have paid?
- What are the demographics of those who have enrolled in Medicaid and Obamacare?
- How many are eligible for a subsidy?
- What is the total amount of subsidies?
- What is the total amount to be paid by paying customers?

Answers to these questions will provide answers to the following:

- How many are still uninsured (this was the purpose of Obamacare)?
- What is the average cost of Obamacare versus the cost before (this was also a major selling point)?
- What will be the total cost of subsidies?
- How much of the subsidies will be covered by poremiums from paying customers?
- Where will the money for any deficit come from?
- What is the average deductible versus before (another major selling point was that people were just an illness away from bankruptcy - that may not have changed and, in fact, may be a greater risk now because of the high deductibles)?

Some simple questions. How about some straight-forward, no-spin answers???

7M sign ups probably reflects the actual number of legit, breathing dem voters who supported Obama in 2008/2012.

Exactly as I predicted....

I was a little off I said 7.2. But there is still time to revise the numbers

These were the numbers the LA times touted yesterday.

Obamacare has led to health coverage for [9.5] millions more [uninsured] people
Los Angeles Times ^ | 30 March 2014 | Noam N. Levey

2 million New coverage
2 + 4.5 = 6.5 million (4.5m Medicaid)
6.5 + 3 million = 9.5 million. (3m now on parents coverage)

In addition to the normally cited issues with the White Houses numerical claims, is another: they have not filtered out duplicates. EVERY person I know who has signed up for the program has at least two applications out there. One has at least six.

The cause for this appears to be two-fold: some people got all the way to the selection process, selected a plan, and then the system forgot who they were (but did recognize the initial ID was in use), and their credentials. The second variant was when the process was working “better”, and they reached an impass (including plan change, altering the number of dependents, etc.)and called in to the help center for assistance where after being passed around for several days they were advised to start a whole new application.
