MEXICOS IMMIGRATION LAW: LETS TRY IT HERE AT HOME
By: jwaller 5/8/2006
Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials havent been sharing that idea with us.
Thats too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.
Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are: in the country legally; have the means to sustain themselves economically; not destined to be burdens on society; of economic and social benefit to society; of good character and have no criminal records; and contributors to the general well-being of the nation.
The law also ensures that: immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor; foreign visitors do not violate their visa status; foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the countrys internal politics;
foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported; those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense. The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Población, or General Law on Population, spells out specifically the countrys immigration policy.
It is an interesting law and one that should cause us all to ask, Why is our great southern neighbor pushing us to water down our own immigration laws and policies, when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent? If a felony is a crime punishable by more than one year in prison, then Mexican law makes it a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.
If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.
We looked at the immigration provisions of the Mexican constitution. [1] Now lets look at Mexicos main immigration law.
Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
Foreigners are admitted into Mexico according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress. (Article 32)
Immigration officials must ensure that immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance and for their dependents. (Article 34)
Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets the equilibrium of the national demographics, when foreigners are deemed detrimental to economic or national interests, when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy. (Article 37)
The Secretary of Governance may suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest. (Article 38)
Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:
Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants.

Heck, look at what they do in their own lives. Tim Wise is salivating for the demise of the white race, but he lives in a lily-white community.
That much is a good thing. Now, if by some miracle he ever becomes President, let’s hope he doesn’t pull a Jorge Bush on us re amnesty.
I totally agree
See, that’s it exactly. They are racist, LITERALLY racist to the core. They are masters at projection because we let them project.
They simply think anyone not like them is beneath them and should be ‘cared for’. And of course, only they know how since blacks and Mexicans are not smart enough to come up to ‘their level’. People cannot be equal and ‘cared for’, ‘guided’, insert buzzword here...simultainiously.
I have yet to encounter a liberal that either did not think themselves superior. Every one of them. So while they make useless noises about helping the less fortunate and other dead horse memes, people need to be made aware of the bigger picture. That being what they base their believed superiority on. It’s textbook racism.
On the projection thing... By definition, projection denotes someone that projects themselves/true/inner being/actions on others. They make an awful lot of noise about racism don’t they? Odd that...
On FB, the latter replies to Cruz’s pro-Mandela post turned into a liberal “apology tour”. We all know how well those work out.
Sorry, I’m slow. Cruz went on an apology tour because of what people said on his FB page when he praised the commie terrorist currently feeling heated pitchforks in his backside? Sorry, I don’t understand.
I meant the replies to Cruz’s post by FB liberals joining in the discussion, after they learned about the FB “righties” setting the record straight from the liberal media. Every fifth reply towards the end started with the words “I apologize”, directed towards liberal South Africans and against those telling the truth about Mandela.
The Mandela thing finally ended NRO for me
Oh,OK, I see now. Thanks for your patience with my dullness tonight.
The firing of Derbyshire for doing nothing more than telling the truth backed by statistics was the end for me. That was utterly disgustingly craven and cowardly of them.
from the article: “Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue.”
Most people would choose to emulate the US rather than Mexico in almost every field of endeavor and in regards to almost every legal system and laws.
Is there a reason that there is only one thing about Mexico that the USA should try to emulate and that is immigration law ?
Fact is the USA is the world leader and should never follow Mexico on anything. And the author would agree with me.
He is just one mad guy who is using immigration to point out the hypocrisy of Mexican immigration policy.
I am another guy who is pointing out his own hypocrisy.
Bump
We're certainly not the world leader in handling immigration issues. I'd say we're more like ass-end Charley.
And as arrogant as I am, I'm willing to learn and improve from ANYBODY - including in this case, Mexico.
Ted Cruz could hit a grand slam by encouraging the United States to adopt Mexico’s immigration laws. Perhaps as an amendment to any shamnesty bill that is considered by the Senate.
Suggest it to him. :)
You’re a constituent, dear lady. I’m just in the peanut gallery. :)
I think k he would listen to you
That might be the nicest thing you’ve ever said about me. :)
I can’t but tell the truth! :)
AMERICANS WANT TO MIGRATE TO MEXICO
Dear Mr. Obama:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3142064/posts
I’m planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me.
We’re planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and we’ll need your help to make a few arrangements.
We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws.
I’m sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, The President of Mexico, that I’m on my way over?
Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:
1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. Please print all Mexican Government forms in English.
4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver’s license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico, but I don’t plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won’t make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my housetop, put U.S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I’ll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I’ll need income tax credits so that although I don’t pay Mexican taxes, I’ll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Government pays $4,500.00 to help me buy a new car.
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I’ll get a monthly income in retirement.
I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that the President of Mexico won’t mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
Look how stupid this looks when you put it in writing !!!
