On first day of Common Core testing, some NY students sit it out

While her son’s fourth-grade classmates were taking the nation's first round of tests under the controversial Common Core program, Heidi Indelecato decided to teach her son a lesson in civil disobedience.

“We respectfully refuse to participate in the test,” said Indelecato, whose son Benjamin attends school in Lancaster, N.Y., which on Tuesday became the first state to administer testing under the Common Core State Standards Initiative.

So while other kids sat poised with their No. 2 pencils above Scantron sheets, Benjamin studied with his mother, who documented the occasion with a picture of the pair wearing T-shirts that read: “Keep calm and and refuse the NYS tests.” …

I think that were I in school today I would refuse to participate in this insanity, come to think of it that’s exactly what I did do most of the time I went to high school.

The results will be skewed upwards because of this giving a false impression of success in education.

God bless this mother...SHE has the guts to stan up to the commiecore crap. Let this be an example to everyone that we Patriots must delay, deny, refuse and destroy the enemy in any way possible. C’mon, folks, have the balls and the guts to do what is right and stand up for your rights.

But under Common Core couldn’t the child miss the test and still pass due to modern self esteem centric grading rules?

There are some Freepers who claim to be conservatives, but they are advocates of common core.

The way I see it, you are either for big government, or against it. If you are for it, you aren’t a conservative.

And Common Core is Big Government.
