The old-line Irish thieves and now some Italian crooks are just going to have to take some very hard falls as the Affirmative Action boys snuggle up to the trough.

One must tread lightly with African-Americans, and also with "Latinos." We would not wish to appear racially insensitive and politically incorrect. Wonder how many Dominicans are ...gasp ...illegals.

PS: make sure you all read "Rat Bastards." It's Johnny "Red" Shea's book about his life as Whitey Bulger's protegé. He's a hell of a guy.

said friday that she was part of the Brian Ross (of NBC) special investigation squad and it was of the highest caliber?

Why does Carr let this bird sub in unless its that Sandi woman (kissy-face w/ McPhee and loathsome O-voter Col. Hunt) - well I answered my own q. Someone had it on a Carrshow thread that Sandi practically runs the station as mega-producer.

He hopes to; his contract with RKO expires in the fall and last wk he went to Florida “looking for employment”. Once he is totally free of being emp. by RKO he’d like to set up a regional network—namely the stations he has now and then he can go to RKO about them carrying HIS network/Howie Carr show, too.
WRKO is the only all talk station in Boston itself. It’s poss. he could do the show from Fla. (his “southern command”?)
most or all of the time. No details yet.

Eloquent as a box of rocks
Howie Carr Boston Herald 4/4/14

As far as I know, the State House has never had a Mensa chapter. If a hack has an IQ of 100, he’s likely known to his colleagues as “the Per-fessor.” Overall, the solons’ collective intellect lights up the world like a three-watt bulb.

But even by the below-average standards of Beacon Hill, there have been a lot of bone-headed remarks made lately. We start with the attorney general, who was named Marsha Coakley by Patches Kennedy. Now Marsha appears to be channeling Patches’ brilliant rhetoric.

On April Fools’ Day, she was asked about the Jared Remy case, and this was her reply:
“It was a circumstance where from my experience in looking at the thousands of cases that we see every day not all of the things that happened in that case happen, but the kinds of things that happened in that case many of us have seen happen time and time again.”

Note the Patches-like repetition of a single word: happen. It’s a happening thing, if you’re Patches Kennedy.

This sound cut was picked up by a “tracker,” one of those rascally Republicans who will be following Marsha around from now until the election.

Marsha is a font of stupid sound bites. Recall, “Technically, it is not illegal to be illegal in Masssachusetts.”

It’s going to be a long summer for Marsha, and a lot of laughs for her trackers.

Next, come on down Rep. Benjamin Swan, D-Springfield. This is the guy who refers to MCI-Cedar Junction as “Walpool.”

One thing about Rep. Swan — the race card, he never leaves home without it. And he was waving it around Wednesday night during the minimum-wage debate.

“If we had been around when abolition of slavery was being debated, there would be those who told us that to eliminate slavery in America would lead to unemployment.”

Whatever you say, Ben …

Next we bring on Gov. Deval Patrick. In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man shall lead. Deval is the one-eyed man at the State House. His IQ is close to room temperature. After graduating from Harvard Law, it took him only three tries to pass the bar exam.

As Deval and his buddy Obama well know, there is no trouble so great that you can’t blame it on someone else, if not George W. Bush then the people of Massachusetts.

Defending the indefensible, last week Deval told a bunch of DCF social workers what the real problem is.

Not the incompetent Olga Roche, not foster parents with criminal records, not missing kids.

“Frankly,” the State House News Service quoted Deval as telling the staffers of DCF, “(it’s) a public that doesn’t understand the complexities of the population you serve, who look for simple answers; who look for short and quick answers, who look for a kind of a once-over-easy, put-it-back-in-the-box because it’s ugly and unattractive and complicated and difficult. ...”

Translation: It’s the Herald’s fault. It always is, isn’t it?

Surefire hack hall of famer

Howie Carr, Boston Herald 4/6/14

column

John Buonomo should be inducted immediately into the Hack Hall of Fame.

Forget the usual five-year waiting period, this is a payroll Charlie of impeccable credentials. In sports, they call particularly versatile athletes “triple threats.” In the hackerama, they’re known as “triple-dippers,” for the number of ways they’re ripping off the taxpayers.

Buonomo was that rarest of hack phenoms, a quadruple-dipper: County salary of approximately $110,000 a year. Somerville city pension beginning at age 48 that eventually got as high as $40,000 a year.

Ripping off his campaign account to the tune of $172,000.

Robbing untold thousands in his nightly raccoon-like depredations on the Xerox machines in the Registry of Deeds office downstairs from his own office in the East Cambridge courthouse.

In a career tragically cut short by state police infrared surveillance cameras, Buonomo posted Gehrig-like numbers. And consider the all-star lineup he had to break into back in the glory days of Somerville — the Piros, the McKennas, the Howes, not to mention Larry Bretta and Mike McLaughlin (better known these days by his Bureau of Prisons number 94973-038).

As Billy Bulger (of all people!) used to say of Somerville, “Why not just put up a fence around the whole city and give everybody inside 3-to-5?”

Alas, Buonomo’s snout was finally pried out of the trough this week by the Supreme Judicial Court when they severed his last link to the public dole, a $40,000 annual pension from the city of Somerville. In the ultimate rebuke, the SJC also ordered Buonomo to repay the All-American City’s retirement board $150,000.

Oh, how sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is, to lose that monthly kiss in the mail.

Until I read the SJC decision, I never realized that Buonomo had been collecting the Somerville pension since 2000, when he was 48 years old. As a hack’s hack, Buonomo was always … hanging around, either at City Hall or at the courthouse in East Cambridge. That was where he worked for, among others, Mike McLaughlin, then a Middlesex county commissioner, now an inmate at the federal pen in Lewisburg until April 23, 2016.

Middlesex County — it’s just a name on the map now, but once it was a way of life. They had a county road department — but no county roads. A county employee once went out on disability after claiming he fell out of his swivel chair at the courthouse.

John Buonomo was the, ahem, executive administrator of Middlesex County. Just as McLaughlin filed for his grossly inflated pension with the city of Chelsea retirement board, Buonomo filed for his with the city of Somerville rather than the state. Payroll patriots figure it’s easier to cut a deal with the city boards than the State Retirement Board. The state treasurer now controls what were the retirement funds of Middlesex County, which as a corrupt organization and racketeering enterprise was abolished more than 20 years ago.

It’s a major decision for a hack, where he’s going to file. It’s like Roger Clemens deciding whether he wanted to be wearing a Red Sox or a Yankees cap on his bust in Cooperstown. McLaughlin and Buonomo both put up a lot of big numbers for the Middlesex Hack Sox, but on Mikey’s statue in the Hack Hall of Fame he’ll be wearing a “C,” and Buonomo’s cap says “S.”

Even in Somerville, the hack community was somewhat taken aback by who Buonomo decided to rip off. See, when Buonomo was an alderman, the mayor was Gene Brune. Buonomo was elected county register of probate, and Brune became the register of deeds. They just moved their base of operations two miles south, from Highland Ave. to East Cambridge.

And then, of all the people Buonomo could have stolen from, he picks his old hack associate from what we used to call the All-American City. Is there no honor … ?

Now his job’s gone, his pension’s gone, even his three hots and a cot at the Billerica House of Correction are gone. At the age of 62, John
Buonomo may finally have to go out and get a real job. You do understand he never worked a day in his life.

As your former neighbor and constituent, John, I can tell you, you haven’t missed a thing.

http://www.wcvb.com/politics/christy-mihos-dodges-trial-on-domestic-assault-charges/25360832

BOSTON —Former gubernatorial candidate Christy Mihos Monday avoided a trial on charges of assaulting his ex-wife, Andrea Mihos, but must undergo a series of conditions including a mental health evaluation to eventually have the charges dismissed.
Under a pre-trial probation agreement between the parties, Mihos cannot have any contact with his former wife except through electronic mail or their attorneys.

Both Mihos and Andrea Mihos appeared in court Monday for the brief hearing, but were not seen having any communications.

The disposition also orders Mihos “not abuse Ms. Andrea Mihos,” “complete a mental health evaluation and any treatment deemed necessary” and he is “prohibited from publicly commenting on the facts or resolution of this case unless Ms. Andrea Mihos and/or attorney publicly comment on the same.”

If Mihos abides by the conditions of the disposition ordered by Judge W. James O’Neill, the charges will be dropped Jan. 5, 2015.

Thanks for the info re: Howie's latest cast of sub hosts.

This is the first time I've heard Sandy (what's her last name?) sub for Howie. She's doing a great job! Why the heck does Howie need McScreamer??

Howie's in Palm Beach yet again? He should just move down there full time, and do his radio show from there...

What the hell is going on with Avi Nelson? “Nancy” Shack is substituting? Are they trying to save money? There has to be a logical explanation for this.

Last night I heard Michele say that Sandy (Nancy Shack; she doesn’t give her married surname, or prefers to keep Shack) would be on today, Michele back tomorrow (Wed) then I think she said Avi would be on Thu and— (I shut off the radio as I had arrived at Domino’s to pick up my pizza :) )

Also to all on the Howie list. When you thought it couldn’t get more sick or bizarre, 2 unattended backpacks have been left nr the Marathon finish line:

Tweets —”Our @NECN video shows a man being taken in custody at finish line wearing all black, black paint on face, and no shoes. @NECN”...

“My colleague, .@AtwaterWCVB, reports the fire depart. has detained the suspect seen dropping 2 backpacks @ the Boston Public Library.” (Julie Loncich)

Also via Ch 4 website: “WBZ-TV photographers on scene say they saw a person with the backpack screaming “Boston Strong” before police cleared everyone from the area.Witnesses say the person was barefoot, wearing a long black veil and was acting strange. It is unclear whether or not the person was taken into custody.”

Per my contention (triggered by a seemingly observant poster on prior carrshow thread) that Sandy (what’s this about her real name being Nancy Shack?) now basically calls the shots throughout local WRKO realm, Avi Nelson would be on her bad side such she doesn’t bring his name up to Howard when subs are discussed.

She gets very pedestrian, prefunctory, patronizing with him.

Todd Feinburg, who subbed a lot for HC before he got his AM slot, very obviously had trouble with her. He once said one has to graduate high school in the Boston area to get fully accepted over there at WRKO - not that I know Sandy to be (doubt it- she’s a State Dept baby) but I got the drift. Remember his getting canned for calling the Green Party gov candidate Grace Ross a “fat lesbian”. Well if you’ve seen Sandy...

Jeff Kuhner as well had trouble with Sandy. His reputation/pull was so great he was able to get the AM slot but Sandy obviously can’t have everything she wants.

I’m sure she’d have Levin off if she had her druthers. She’ll like the hands-off-social-doctrine libertarians like Jerry Doyle. He only had to go because he was so vitriolic toward pro-family conservatives he couldn’t draw an audience if you asked me. He lasted WAAYYYY too long.

I have my troubles with Avi for he’s somewhat same but conversely he’s basically a gentleman w/ real classic Harvard education.

I think Avi keeps Sandy at bay pretty well by being, by reaction to hers, pedestrian, prefunctory, patronizing (with her) but with the erudite air of gentlemanliness she as State Dept baby can’t get her brand of cutesie feminist sarcasm going at.

Well Bon, you might be right, I don’t know. Really I don’t pay much attention to her. She has decided to sub I guess, and it’s clear she really isn’t that bright, well informed or offering much in the way of life experience. Avi has real degrees from Yale, Cornell & Harvard. Has Sandy/Nancy accomplished anything aside from the BC law degree and working at WRKO?

Nancy Shack is def. her real name and she said on a fill in that she got the name “Sandy” because Howie had “poached” her from another show (using her to produce his as well) and they wanted to keep it secret; the “Sandy” name may have been an in-joke reference to Jerry Williams’ girlfriend Sandy Nagro (see the Jerry W bio). Nancy got married and she isn’t using her married name.

One time I heard Max Robins slip up (nobody caught it) and said something to Howie like “people like you and Nancy...”.

Todd Feinburg didn’t get canned by RKO for the “fat lesbian” comment, that was John DePetro (orig. of WHJJ Providence and now at WPRO, where he has gotten into trouble for other things). DePetro had called Matt Amorello, “Fag Matt. Wife wears the pants.” Then the G. Ross comment. I don’t know about what you mentioned. After subbing on WBZ for awhile, Todd is now doing some kind of traffic-radio-app deal.

I don’t know if the fill-ins are Sandy’s call or not, but they tend to say other people pick them (the PD or GM; Kevin Graham is the former).

2006:
>>WRKO in Boston has fired talk show host John DePetro. WFTV.com reports: John DePetro called the Green-Rainbow party’s candidate for governor a ‘fat lesbian.’ The comment came during Thursday’s show.” The story goes on to say, “DePetro told The Boston Globe he said it out of exasperation with the target, Grace Ross. He felt Ross and an independent candidate were taking too much time during a debate, leading him to say he wished someone would ‘tell the fat lesbian to shut up.’”

Boston stung by ‘beekeeper’ with crush on Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Howie Carr, Boston Herald 4/17/14

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

That was the verdict of Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissioner William Evans on the latest “performance artist” to plunge the city in turmoil. So what if they had to shut down the Green Line and “detonate” said artiste’s attack backpack Tuesday night on Boylston Street?

“There was no breach of security,” said the mayor yesterday.

Of course not. A guy dressed all in black with a veil that made him look like the Beekeeper of Death runs barefoot down Boylston Street chanting “Boston Strong!” and then abandons his backpack in the middle of the street where the vice president had been babbling incoherently a few hours earlier.

Oh sure, happens every day. Especially on the first anniversary of the marathon bombings. Especially when the backpack contains a pressure cooker like the Muslim welfare terrorists used last year to murder three infidels in the same location.

How many EBT cards do you suppose Kayvon Edson has? He once called a Wakefield cop a “pig,” and he gave the finger to Leo the police dog — that alone should be good for two or three extra cards.

Plus, just looking at the guy, you can tell he is one of Nancy Pelosi’s first Obamacare success stories. Obviously Kayvon has shed the surly bonds of “Job Lock.” This bum makes Pajama Boy look like a member of the Tea Party.

OK, ultimately it was much ado about nothing. But don’t tell me it wasn’t a breakdown in security. Especially when the FBI has been taking it on the chin for weeks now because they lost track of two of the tens of thousands of asylum-seeking future terrorists welcomed into this country with MassHealth and EBT cards and Section 8 vouchers by the likes of Joe “It Was Worth It” Biden.

Check out Kayvon’s Facebook page, or what was cached there before it was scrubbed yesterday. Unlike Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s not-so-secret admirers in the state-run media, Kayvon at least honestly admits he has the hots for the “tousle-haired” youth.

“SEXY!” he swoons.

Then watch his video, “Purgatory Vacation.” Purgatory? It’s more like hell. Never have 6 minutes and 50 seconds seemed more like 650 years. We see him for the first time in his Beekeeper of Death garb, and a “nurse” offers him an Ativan.

An Ativan? I don’t think so. What he needs is a shot from an elephant-tranquilizer gun, or at least a good tasering.

We’ll be hearing a lot about Kayvon in the next few weeks, in the run-up to his inevitable Profiles in Courage Award.

He was an aspiring rap artist.

He was turning his life around.

He’s thinking of running for lieutenant governor at the Democratic state convention in Worcester next month.

He was a good boy, a very good boy.

But the ultimate question remains. Kayvon has “tousled” hair, but is he really “SEXY” enough to make the cover of the Rolling Stone?

thanks raccoonradio-

methinks I got Todd F and John D morphed maybe because each got along with subject Nancy in near same way as in: not.

Nan sure is a piece of work. She’s kept her marriage pretty well under wraps but had to of course mention it (hubby only, right?) slightly for the first few weeks I guess in honeymoon fervor...or at least to explain long vaca.

What got me (too) was her making an ad with use of the words “my family” ( you bet it was emphasized in voice) in there whereas she never mentioned junior or juniorette otherwise. She’s hardly a “pro family” type anyways and this ref was only one I recall to give hint she inherited a youth (youd in Mumblebonics) with the taking of the ring. Was she fearing reprisals at school against the youd? HC and all others freely talk about their children & they might get an occasional barb tossed their way at class- presuming the new Shacker is of school age. So is the new Shacker in their 20’s in which case can’t they fend for themselves inside RT128 business climate?

Yeah, I can’t stand the woman. She’s a first class example of State Dept baby...very sly, shifty left-centrist-barely right actually calling herself a Dem to keep “nonjudgemental” status highest while being able as a RINO to diss at near every turn Demonrat behaviors which would tell anyone with a conscience such “nonjudgementalness” is a ruse... a feminist libertarian.

Howie can’t leave this station soon enough. Her keeping Howard Lawrence happy this long is beyond me, especially given her kissy-face with One L McPhee, Hunt.
