No inheritance for Anderson! CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, who comes from the Vanderbilts, one of the wealthiest families in American history, said Monday, March 31, that he will not be receiving any fortune from his mother Gloria Vanderbilt.
"My mom's made clear to me that there's no trust fund," Cooper told Howard Stern on his radio show. "There's none of that."
Cooper's mom is the great-great-granddaughter of railroad and shipping mogul Cornelius Vanderbilt. Still stunning at 90 years old, the Manhattan socialite and former denim designer is reportedly worth a whopping $200 million.
Gloria's equally-successful son, however, told Stern he was okay with not receiving an inheritance at all. "I don't believe in inheriting money," he said. "I think it's an initiative sucker. I think it's a curse."

Well, I don’t think Anderson Cooper will be clipping coupons anytime soon.
According to the article:
“The CNN personality, nicknamed the “Silver Fox” by fans, reportedly rakes in $11 million a year through his contact with the network.”
(The question is how many people actually watch his show?)
Cooper’s one of the liberal news media I fairly well respect.
Oh how they have fallen since the days of Cornelius Vanderbilt....
Doesn’t want the money to go to gay lover?
Ahhh so that’s the reason they handed him a microphone in the first place. I’d take a gay Anderson Cooper over a straight Bill Maher any day though...
Doesn’t believe in inheriting money because he was able to achieve tens of millions of his own on mostly the family name.
Also, may not be a trust fund from his mom’s estate, but who is to say there wasn’t one much earlier for him for when he was 21? Could already have taken in the inheritance before that he now says he hates.
Uh ..... your mom?
He’s worth many millions.
Fell outta my chair, when Bob Hope, during prime time TV in the 70’s, joked:
“If Gloria has one more facelift, she’ll have a goatee.”
LOL! Hey randy andy. Curse me with a little of it. :>}
> Coopers one of the liberal news media I fairly well respect.
Yep. He doesn’t go around “drag queening” his homosexuality to everyone and you have to respect him for that.
Money will be left to a house full of cats.
And he's got sucking problems.
No matter how liberal a parent is or who much they outward claim to support homosexuality, and don't care as long as "their child to be happy". The truth is, even they die a little inside if their child comes out as a homosexual, even the leftist loons have dreams of the perfect family and a house full of grandkids as they grow old, whether they admit it or not.
Anderson Cooper on CNN
“My mom once wrote a romance memoir about men she had datedand I use that term looselyand she described one guy she was currently datingmy mom was 85 at the timeas the Nijinsky of cun......... And she made me proofread the book.
RE: Still stunning at age 90
I’d like to know who her plastic surgeon is.... He’s good.
She invested in “plastics”
The girl on the right wouldn’t be too bad in NYC.
Stunning is not the word I would think of. More like, “ACK!”
Not even her wardrobe?......................
Once again your tagline stands out!
RE: Still stunning at age 90
Id like to know who her plastic surgeon is.... Hes good.
True it isn’t brown lip stick on his mouth.
Good for him. I think that Buffet, Vanderbilt, and yes even Bill Gates are not leaving their kids any significant inheritance. Anderson Cooper has made his own money which is better appreciated.
There are probably worse causes than that.
Unfortunatey, her face is permanently fixed in that position.
The sexual deviants who watch Cooper have a lot of disposable income.
he was able to achieve tens of millions of his own on mostly the family name.
Cooper? Vanderbilt? Quite a difference there isn’t there? If he really wanted to live by his name, he would use Vanderbilt-Cooper. No?
oops context is everything
Its a quote from Survivor man about eating raw fish, argh.
Agree, she still looks stunning. I don’t care if plastic surgeons helped out.
They all know he was a Vanderbilt.
His name is Dr. Earl Scheib.
He’s not going to produce an heir, so why give the money to him? It’s a dead end.
Would he have been as successful without her standing behind him? Probably not.
She raised a deviant who is helping to destroy marriage, families, conservatism, and America. I see no reason to admire her or him.
They all know he was a Vanderbilt.
What am I doing wrong? I am a Rockefeller from four generations back (Great Great Grandparents) and don’t get crap or even get to use that. I have a different name too. Man do I feel ripped...lol.
Cooper may appear to be "normal" on television, but I suspect he's one screwed up individual.
From four generations back?
There is your problem, not so with Cooper whose mom was famous.
I believe your comment can apply to the mothers/fathers of all homosexuals whose lifestyles or "parenting" skills were responsible for creating homosexuals.
Then, since they're incapable of realizing or accepting the responsibility they bear, they promote the societal acceptance of these deviants in order to absolve themselves of any guilt or responsibility...
One of the fundamental tenets of communism. No inheritances, because when you die everything must go to the state.
Besides, people who inherit money inherit power, and that makes them a threat to the state.
Democrats think that way too, because in their heart of hearts they are communists.
Yeah that is true. Quite frankly I would hate to have all that money. I know it is nice I am sure but it does come with a price. Anderson’s brother committed suicide and a bunch of other stuff.
I agree. I like AC ore than most. That being said, AC is getting his inheritance up front. No doubt his family has already help open doors for his career.
That’s a keeper!
I’d hit it.
