One of my relatives worked for a company in France for a number of years-she was totally freaked out at first by the fact that many public restrooms were unisex. So, not a new thing, but still a special kind of stupid...

i did a remodel job on a grammer school for students kids at UCLA in the early 60s and there was one bathroom with no door it had no partitions and only toilets lined up on one wall and wash basins on the other.

It was for all students, the teacher and any visitors.

They have been pushing for this for 50 years or more.
