MSNBC loves to find a racial controversy in the most unexpected of places and on Wednesdays NewsNation, anchor Tamron Hall seized a golden opportunity to do just that. Hall brought on Sgt. Jasmine Jacobs, a soldier who started a White House petition asking the president to force the U.S. Army to reconsider its updated appearance and grooming regulations.
[T]he U.S. Army just released its updated appearance and grooming regulations and it's drawing sharp criticism for rules many say unfairly target African-American women's hair... [O]ne of the rules which only applies to women is a ban on twists, dreadlocks, and multiple braids or cornrows that are bigger than a quarter of an inch.
So this story combined two of MSNBCs favorite topics racism and sexism with another favorite liberal media pastime, beating up on the military.
Thats not to say she didnt come close to playing devils advocate. At one point, she read Jacobs this quote from an Army spokesperson:
Many hairstyles are acceptable, as long as they are neat and conservative. In addition, headgear is expected to fit snugly and comfortably without bulging or distortion from the intended shape of the headgear and without excessive gaps. Unfortunately, some hairstyles do not meet this standard, or others listed.
That might have been a good time to ask the sergeant something like, Doesnt the spokesperson have a point? But instead, Hall followed up that quote by asking, What are some of the things that you heard from the 7,000 voices who joined you on this petition?"
I am so sick of this crap but Being the pig I am would love to see Tamron Hall with long sultry hair she would be delicious
When you are an official offended class, everything is racist.

I served in the military. Nobody has the time for fancy hairstyles. All the guys have to look the same so there’s absolutely no option for dreads or cornrows. And as to the women, twists, and dreads, etc. will not fit correctly under a cover.
I served with any number of black women. They put their hair in a bun like everybody else, and there were no issues, because either in the field or in cantonment, simplicity and practicality are what count.
Army women want to do what men do so they should look like men, suggest a compromise - white sidewalls.
I suspect there are a few ex-Army folks out there who would like a chance to remind Sergeant Jacobs about the chain of command.
Today the CIA is more interested in figuring if illegals should be hired rather than figuring Russia’s intent.
No more is the person trying to do a good job but raising a thug stink territory about themselves, crying racism like a bear territorial pi.
I’m confused
women wanted to be in the military.
military haircuts are short and tight.
get the trimmer and give everyone the same cut. if women don’t like it, then they weren’t that interested in being in the service
that brings up a good point
by filing a petition on the white hut web page, that would constitute politics
is she now going to be brought up on disciplinary charges for stepping into politics while being an active member of the service?
ROFL
No, cause she is black
Shave everyone’s head and take this out of the equation.
Yikes that is ugly
So what if it was directed specifically at hairstyles worn by black women? Doesn’t matter one bit. If the White House can pass dress codes for everyone who works there except Obama and Fat Michelle, then the U.S. military can pass dress codes. By the way, do you suppose MSNBC has a dress codes that includes hair styles?
Once the hijab becomes standard issue, this will be a moot point.
So many people have loose screws these days, which explains Obama
is she now going to be brought up on disciplinary charges for stepping into politics while being an active member of the service?
Not a chance because that would also be raaacist.
