How to get the Left to all applaud and support these oil trains to the Phillips (nee: Union Oil) Santa Maria Refinery.......

Phillips need only declare that its Santa Maria Refinery is not going to make automobile lubricants, airplane lubricants, truck lubricants, diesel, or gasoline.

Instead, the refinery will now make sexual lubricants.

You’ll see Nancy Pelosi, Barry Obama, and Sandra Fluke all picketing Phillips to get the trains rolling faster!

Problem solved.

(anyone have any other problems they want fixed?)

With oil fracking increasing America’s domestic production by 60% in the last three years

Now, there's a truly astonishing stat!

While the increase has been great, the oil production increase is not quite that high. 45% increase in 3 years, from 5.5 MMBPD to 7.9 MMBPD.

I was quoting from another thread. Didn’t look up the numbers personally. Me culpa.

The author of this article said the same. It is not correct.

Maybe they meant all liquids including natural gas liquids. I’ve seen reporting of liquid petroleum numbers that way then someone else thinks it is all oil.

The numbers were higher than I’d seen elsewhere, which is why I was surprised by them, but it’s hardly my area of expertise.

What have the numbers been in, say, the last 10 years?

From the prices, it looks like we’re closing the flooding the market for natgas. At some point, either we start exporting or price will drop below that which makes further drilling attractive.

No exemptions. Exemptions are, ultimatey, what allowed ObamaCare to pass. Please take a look at an 1850 classic, "The Law", by Frederic Bastiat, available from Amazon.com in English. He wrote this collection of essays as France was sliding down into the slime pit of Socialism in 1848 describes quite simply how the law can be perverted from protection of the group to legalized plunder.

Conservatives can fall into the same trap, which is why I call myself a Constitutionalist. [Getting caught up in the "Republican" snare is a whole different matter that we don't have time for today.] I would point out that Democrats, under the flag of being conservatives, brought us the McCarthyism of the 1950's, just like the left-wing wackos of the Democrat Party are bringing us the political correctness of this decade.
