A top Russian official has accused the US of "childish tantrums" in its response to the annexation of Crimea, and suggested that American politicians practise yoga and watch sitcoms to help chill out.
"Clearly, the US leadership is really annoyed, and cannot come to terms with the new situation, which has arisen in large part due to the deliberate line taken by the US and its allies in Europe to prepare anti-Russian forces to take power in Ukraine," said deputy foreign minister, Sergei Ryabkov, in an interview with Interfax.
"Trying to demonstrate how unhappy it is with the exercise of free will by the population of Crimea and the decisions we took related to it, Washington is ruining contacts even in places where continuing dialogue is in their own interests.

Could they be goading the US into doing something stupid or encouraging Ukraine or its thugs to do something stupid and then they'll be justified to take a corridor in eastern Ukraine to connect Crimea to Russia?

Obama has reduced the US to a laughing stock. We are perceived worldwide now as being powerless, concerned only with the bizarre combination of homosexual and Muslim “issues,” and consciously weakening ourselves economically to the point that we will be about at the level of South Africa (if even that good) before too long.

It is wise to examine this tactic and consider it among all the others.
It is also wise to consider the exact opposite situation, that Obama is tactically trying to goad Russia (Putin) into doing something stupid so the world will see Obama's actions as justified.
The US and EU fund and arm Christian slaughtering Al Qaeda foreign mercenaries to overthrow the legitimate government of Syria. Is it such a stretch to believe that the US and EU would instigate the overthrow of the legitimate Ukrainian government?
Well, Washington also didn’t cotton to foreign entanglements. The Barbary Pirates got engaged only when they were menacing trade to the new USA.
That said, technology has made the world so small that Russia might as well be at our doorstep. If isolationism made sense at one time, it doesn’t now.
Anti-Russian means not wanting to be assimilated into Russia. I guess that’s some big crime.
