George Soros’ real crusade: Legalizing marijuana in the U.S
Washington Times ^ | April 2, 2014 | Kelly Riddell

Billionaire philanthropist George Soros hopes the U.S. goes to pot, and he is using his money to drive it there. With a cadre of like-minded, wealthy donors, Mr. Soros is dominating the pro-legalization side of the marijuana debate by funding grass-roots initiatives that begin in New York City and end up affecting local politics elsewhere.

“The pro-legalization movement hasn’t come from a groundswell of the people. A great deal of its funding and fraud has been perpetrated by George Soros and then promoted by celebrities,” said John Walters, director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy under George W. Bush. “The truth is under attack, and it’s an absolutely dangerous direction for this country to be going in.”

I’m not trying to ding anyone here for using pot. I know some people can handle it andsome can’t. It’s just not part of my lifestyle because I saw what it did to others around me while I grew up. After decades of watching several of these guys the end result of lifelong is evidence enough for me no to want to imbibe.

drug addiction is one of the worst forms of enslavement. It's a slavery not just of the body but of the mind and the spirit as well. And the democratic party has a long history of keeping slaves. That's what this is and that's no hyperbole.

Not a bad plan. I once saw a group of potheads with munchies attack a tube of cookie dough. It was not pretty. It was like a suburban Lord of the Flies moment.

Soros has always been known to be a big drug legalization person. I think it’s partly because he no doubt stands to make money off of it, and partly because he knows that a stoned people is a dumb and complaisant people.

Think of the Opium Wars: Britain wanted to force China into free trade and encouraged opium smuggling and addiction as a way to weaken the will of the Chinese to resist.

And it worked. At one point, one-third of the population of China was addicted to opium.

Get enough of the population sedated in a marijuana haze and Soros and company can work their evil plans without resistance.

As I watch this discussion on smoking pot...I wonder where the anti smoking crowd is? Why aren’t they “all over this” as cancer causing, dangerous because of second hand smoke, etc, etc,? I’m thinking there is some major hypocracy happening here. Why aren’t there as many “no pot” signs as there are “no smoking” signs? The (supposed) danger is identical...you are burning a leaf with chemicals in it that are carcinogenic. So where is the outrage?

I agree with the comments about stoners are easy to control. Pot also has impact on ambition and industriousness. Thus our competitiveness as a workforce.

Soros is hell bent on destroying this country, and this is just another one of his tools.

It appears that Fear stops people dead in their tracks when it comes to expressing outrage over marijuana use.
