The names of the six-member jury panel that acquitted George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin have been made public for the first time, after a new court order, records show.
Circuit Judge Debra Nelson, who had previously ordered the jurors' identifying information be kept confidential, granted access to the names in a ruling March 21.

Mozilla can fire them too, now.
If they’re harassed or injured as a result, can they sue the judge personally?
Somebody should publish the Judge’s home address.
Now if these jurors are hunted down, persecuted and attacked, will the media report a word of it or to the contrary will they emphasize the cost of being a juror as a message to future juries that they had better rule as the Left wants?
constitutionally you have the right to face the accuser and that includes not having secret juries.
This was inevitable, correctly so.
the jurrors are always advised they do not have to speak to the press.
If anything, every juror should have the right to say no ONCE and the media obligated to comply. If anything the “no contact/interviews” request could be part of the court record.
That’s the whole idea. They only want government drones delivering politically correct verdicts.
Is this America or North Korea? Its looking more and more like a Communist country everyday..these jurors names should have been kept PRIVATE, unless they wanted their names released..now they will be harassed, death threats will be made against them, and they will lose their jobs
And what about other people who happen to have the same names? Can they sue the judge, too, if the Sons of Obama attack them?
I certainly hope so!
This should be criminal.
there we have it
I don’t know...but I would certainly try to do so should the necessity arise!
“a deterrent to performing ones civic duty.”
the core of the lawsuits....
The left understands that their best chance for success NEXT TIME lues simply in making future jurors afraid.
Rest assured harm will prominently befall all these good, honestPeople.
Wonder if this applies to Mafia murder trials.
And how can this not affect future juries? I might fight being on a jury if my name might be made public. It might also affect the outcome of the trial if the jurors know that their names might be made public. So much for justice and a fair trial.
If I were one of the jurors and I were threatened or worse, I’d know exactly who I’d blame.
I think that’s the purpose. Deter future jurors from voting their conscience.
This beyotch ought to be disbarred, as should any lawyer representing the outers.
the slimebag media will play it as a covert threat
the right to face the accuser
the jurors are not the accusers.
the State would be the accuser
District Attorneys are not drawn form a pool of available citizens as far as I know
When I look at the White House now, it's like reading what was written on the old flat earth sea chart maps: "Here there be dragons"
Yep, acolytes of the evil red dragon from Revelation. By their fruits ye shall know them.
If the judges action was not illegal it darned well should be.
it is constitutional to have the jury public. (public trial and all that)
Remember the LEFT WING media wanted these names to continue the t-shirt sales.
The problem isn’t that the names were released. The problem is that the people harassing or threatening them will not be prosecuted.
I don’t think the secret jury applies here. George knew who they were and he had a chance to face them.
This action will endanger these people.
public trial with a jury of your peers.
who opposed the media?
Possibly Illegal Intimidation..but gross intimidation at any rate does not further our society whatsoever.
Im disgusted and saddened by this fiasco
Like with Spike Lee? I read that the innocent people who were harrassed and threatened thanks to his calls for street justice received a large settlement from him-I hope it’s true.
I don’t understand your question. Nobody really opposed the media, at least not anyone in any official capacity.
Indeed Indeed! and Amen!
George had a public trial. He faced his jury and his accusers (the state).
Juries are not accusers.
Will Spike Lee be tweeting their home addresses?
Constitutionally, you have a right to face your accuser “IN THE TRIAL”. That’s it. Jurors are not the accusers.
Attorneys vet the jurors. That’s when your team gets to select the right people. There is no legal or otherwise obligation for the jurors to be identified further than Jurist 6 et al.
This is all about intimidation. If the media swoops in on these folks, the message will be loud and clear, “You either rule as the Leftists want, or you will be found guilty and punished severely.”
This is a very chilling outcome for jurists, on a case that has had over the top intimidation as a factor since day one.
I suspect your question will soon be seen as prophetic.
Zimmerman’s attorneys only asked for six months as a ‘cooling off period’ and
this is some eight months now. It would have gone longer had not the Sentinel asked
for the names to be released.
GEORGE ZIMMERMAN had the right to face his accusers, which BTW do not include the jury. Even if he had the right to face the jury, he did so in open court. Keep in mind that Zimmerman was the accused in the case. It wasn’t him requesting that the jury members’ identities be made pbulic.
There is no constitutional right for ANYONE to learn the identities of a jury. What possible good can come from publicly revealing their identites?
I hope they are arming up.
I would think that’s good enough reason for legal recourse right there against the party making those names public.
That bi itch of a judge wants revenge. Disgusting.
There will be trouble when the first juror is harassed in a dangerous way (death threats, assaulted, etc.).
However, they ARE drawn from a pool of slime somewhere near the courthouse................
who opposed the media?
Good question but not sure there was a hearing. Thus no court action,
just a release by the judge.
From the article:
.... In a letter, Sentinel attorneys asked Nelson for a specific ruling on how long
she planned to maintain the jurors’ anonymity, noting it was already “well past the
six month ‘cooling off’ period requested by the defense.” ....
if it bleeds it leads...and sadly this may well lead to a LOT of bleeding
No kidding. America is looking more and more like the Soviet Union with each passing day. Intimidation, thought-crimes, fear.
This judge is all but soliciting the murder of the jurors.
