Thousands Of Artifacts Seized At 91-Year-Old Indiana Man's Home

Federal agents, art experts and museum curators descended on the home of a 91-year-old man in central Indiana on Wednesday to take control of a huge collection of artifacts from Native American, Russian, Chinese and other cultures.

FBI Special Agent Robert Jones told reporters that the collection's cultural value "is immeasurable," reports RTV6 The Indy Channel.

Be careful with that coin or stamp collection you got. I wonder if Obama will order his house be burned to the ground.

That is the big question. One article I read said the government would go so far as to say he did anything wrong. So what is the warrant based on?

Patience, comrade! It takes time to print that evidence up and plant it! /s;)

They said that the collection was so extensive that it will take them 30 years to catalogue all of it —

30 years????

All these years and no one has missed this stuff and everyone has gotten along without it but now we have to employ a cadre of shufflers on the public payroll for the next 30 years to catalogue it.

Considering he collected for 80 years it sounds as if they are implementing an ex post facto law. That is not legal. They should have a count of theft or grand theft for each item confiscated.

Here we go again with the duplicate posts ... the old guy graded Enrico Fermi's (the father of the hydrogen bomb) papers, worked on the Manhattan Project, invented airplane black box, etc., was one of the people who rescued Europe's art from the Nazis.

Of course he's hated, worse he's a Republican. He's not just some old guy with a ‘collection’ - his collection itself has no equal anywhere.

They aren't after someone’s stamp and coin collection. This is completely different. Very few, if any, stamp/coin collections are priceless - as is this one.

The stress could likely kill him, and maybe that's what they are counting on. This is revenge on a white man who help change the world, thus enslaving minorities, women, and children. White men are not supposed to or allowed to do the things he has done in his life.

"How can they seize ANYTHING without at least SOME evidence that he possesses them illegally?"

This is ridiculous. An amateur archeologist works for decades accumulating articles that he finds. What doe his will say happens to the collection upon his death?? I would strongly suspect that he intends it to go to some museum or other. The rush to tyranny continues.0

Unfortunately, we live in Obama world. They don't need anything, to steal what you have. The rule of law no longer applies to these swine.

Everyone here thinks this seizure is illegal. I wonder what precipitated it. If the collector had some items that he stole, wouldn’t there be a legal way to get them back without dragging everything he owns out of the house?

I don’t know whether this is illegal search and seizure but it most assuredly is a ham-handed act of a bunch of bullies against a 91-year old citizen.

I hope to live that long…is this what I can look forward to?

Maybe the FBI now uses the IRS playbook.

You’re guilty till you prove you’re not.
