Hillary Clinton: Media ‘double standard’ on women By: Maggie Haberman April 3, 2014 11:44 PM EDT
Hillary Clinton discussed her work at the State Department, called for young women not to take criticisms personally and rapped the media for treating powerful women with a double standard at the kickoff of “Women in the World” in New York City Thursday night.
Clinton’s appearance on a panel with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde, moderated by New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, ran the gamut from their opinion on the situation in Ukraine to a high-five between the two women when Friedman suggested toward the end that both women could end up in presidencies — Lagarde of the European Commission, and Clinton of the United States.
She revealed that an entire chapter of her upcoming book about her time at Foggy Bottom focuses on the sanctions against Iran that, her aides have argued, were responsible for setting the groundwork for bringing Tehran officials to the current negotiations over freezing their nuclear production.
When asked by Friedman about her laying “a predicate” for the negotiations that began under Secretary of State John Kerry, Clinton said, “I write obviously a whole chapter about this because this is the kind of … painstaking, microscopic advantages and putting together the international coalition” that effect change.
It “changed the calculus inside the Iranian government,” she said. “It took an enormous amount of effort on the part of a lot of us to put that” in motion.
She also stressed that she was “very proud of the stabilization and the really solid leadership that the administration” gave when she and President Barack Obama came into their posts amid the financial crisis.

Now THERE is a person who has been subjected to a REAL and unmerciful double standard. And it has little or nothing to do with gender.

The media will trash strong conservative women like Sarah but look the other way when it comes to Hillary. That’s the double standard. How about writing a whole chapter in your book about Benghazi, didn’t think so. You will not be allowed to run in 2016 without telling the truth, Freepers will make sure of that. Has anyone seen a searching political critique of, say, Nancy Pelosi or Betty Friedan or Maxine Waters or Valerie Jarrett yet, of the kind of poltically-motivated sigmoidoscopy to which Newt, Dole, Dubya, et al. were regularly subjected by Timesman drones like Tom Friedman?
How about just doing a couple of these Feminazi journalists like MoDo? She's crazy as Creutzfeld-Jakob's cow. Surely Tom could find something to write about?
