Hawiian Gardens, CA SWAT teams, helicopter and LOT of police units
04/05/2014 | Loud Mime

Posted on 04/05/2014 8:43:03 AM PDT by Loud Mime

While sitting in the local Starbucks I was interrupted by loads of sirens and police units driving down Del Amo Blvd. The guy in a white Dodge drove down the street, did a U-turn and parked just a hundred yards from here.

The entire street is in lock-down. My car is in the closed area.

No Popcorn, just donuts and oatmeal. We’re all sitting here watching nothing.

What’s unusual is that there’s NO news helicopters here. Usually there are four or five during an event like this.

I wonder what he did. Likely something very serious: Parked in a handicapped spot, drove in car pool lane on the 605, or god forbid, littered or was smoking a cigarette?

Maybe he posted a video insulting to 0bama?

You’re actually a little north of Hawaiian Gardens. Del Amo Blvd runs through Lakewood.

Traffic is going to be a nightmare. That location is only blocks from a huge mall, the Long Beach Towne Center. Carson St. is busy pretty much all the time. There are also casinos there, poker clubs, etc.

Local coverage:

Carson Street was closed between Juan Avenue and Norwalk Boulevard and Norwalk Boulevard was closed between 216th Street and 223rd Street, the release stated.

Sheriff’s asked that local residents and motorists avoid the area until further notice.

The City of Hawaiian Gardens is the smallest city in Los Angeles and is located near Lakewood and Long Beach.

The incident occurred just hours before the Hawaiian Gardens 50th Anniversary Parade and Carnival was scheduled to begin.

Oh you still have the place pegged right, I travel through one side occasionally, up Lincoln/Carson to hit the 605 or one of the cities up that way. But my understanding now is it's more dangerous for Blacks than Whites. And of course there is the Gardens Casino to draw even more to the area.

The action is a mile East of the 605; LB Town Center is to the West. There should be no problem around the mall.

I hiked home. The car is in the parking lot with all the action.

STILL NO news helicopters.

“Yeah, it’s a gang-infested sewer hole, a few miles east of downtown LA.”

About 20 miles southeast of LA downtown and next to Long Beach.

Conservatives are far and few in this city.

Man Allegedly Shoots Eastvale Woman Several Times, Barricades Himself In Car

EASTVALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday say a man shot the mother of his two children several times in Riverside County, dumped her at an ER and has barricaded himself from police in Hawaiian Gardens.

The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. near Burrage and Rolling Meadow Streets, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Investigators say the woman was shot at least six times with a small caliber gun. The victim’s two children were not present.

Police say the suspect then drove the victim to the hospital and fled.

The woman was listed in stable condition.

Around 7 a.m., deputies spotted the suspect’s vehicle in Hawaiian Gardens and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The man drove into a strip mall at Carson Street and Norwalk Boulevard, where he’s barricaded himself inside his car.

As of 10:30 a.m., officials were still trying to get the suspect to surrender.

A perimeter has been set up around the strip mall with Carson Street closed between Norwalk Blvd. and Juan Avenue. Norwalk was closed between 216th and 223rd streets, deputies said.
