"The assumption Democrats made that, once implemented, Obamacare would be popular ranks up there with Custer’s assumption there were only a few Indians at the Little Big Horn."

Obamacare is a massive failure and meets all the commonly accepted definitions of a failure. Just because, maybe, "something needed to be done" about health /insurance care in this country when polls in 2009-10 showed that over 80-85% of people were satisfied with their health care situation, doesn't mean this particular law works well or works even adequately. In fact, it is looking more and more that it is continually doing more harm than good,.... to health care itself, the medical industry, health insurance and the overall economy. In November it is going to do more harm then good to the Democrats. And it looks like a lot more harm than good to them. AND perhaps, most importantly, it has given the death knell to any large scale expansion of the social welfare state for at least a generation.

One definition of a "progressive attitude" can be admitting one has made a mistake and then "progressing" to a correct solution.

"All change is not growth (or progress), as all movement is not forward."

More accurately if a "progressive" policy fails, it can only be because they didn't do enough of it and need to expand the scope...

When in all of recorded history has a “progressive” -under whatever name- admitted that their policy was flawed?

All this being true I have zero expectation it will truly be rolled back.

GOP will pickup seats in midterm but a veto proof majority it won’t have so Obamacare will stay.

After the next presidential election a compromise bill that makes substantial changes will be passed, it will be hailed as a “repeal” but it won’t be.

Tsunami? Don't make me laugh.Osama Obama could have been...*would* have been...the main casualty of a "tsunami" in 2012 had it not been for millions of true believers who were convinced that Mitt Romney was very bit as much a Commie atheist as is Osama and,as a result, spent Election Day 2012 doing an inventory of their ammo and food supplies.A good number of them can be seen posting right here on FR (you know who you are).

Ten bucks says the very same thing happens this November.

“More accurately if a “progressive” policy fails, it can only be because they didn’t do enough of it and need to expand the scope... “

Progressives always fail in the end, and they alway attribute that failure to the fact that the “wrong people” were in charge and if only they had had “better” leadership, they would have succeeded.

With the current generation of upstart “progressives” invariably defining themselves as “better”...

Romney was unelectable, as shown by the fact that he wasn't elected. Maintain your delusions if you wish, but the GOP ran an unelectable liberal in 2012.

Thank you for referencing that article ReaganÜberAlles. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Even if Obamacare Democratcare was a major success, it remains that Constitution-ignoring Democrats wrongly established Democratcare outside the framework of the Constitution like Democrats and RINOs have been doing with most everything else for the last 60+ years.

ObamaCare can never be repealed because the system it replaced was already irreparably broken. You can’t have an insurance-based system of delivering medical care in an “upside-down” demographic environment where the high cost of providing care to older people deters everyone else from signing up for a raw deal.
