Yes He Can, on Immigration
New York Times ^ | APRIL 5, 2014 | THE EDITORIAL BOARD

Posted on 04/06/2014 9:25:55 AM PDT by Second Amendment First

If President Obama means what he says about wanting an immigration system that reflects American values, helps the economy and taps the yearnings of millions of Americans-in-waiting, he is going to have to do something about it — soon and on his own. It has been frustrating to watch his yes-we-can promises on immigration reform fade to protestations of impotence and the blaming of others. All Mr. Obama has been saying lately is: No, in fact, we can’t, because Republicans and the law won’t let me.

Mr. Obama is correct when he complains that long-term immigration repairs have been throttled in Congress. Neo-nativist Republicans fixated on mass deportation have blocked a worthy bipartisan bill. But Mr. Obama has compounded this failure by clinging to a coldblooded strategy of ramped-up enforcement on the same people he has promised to help through legislation that he has failed to achieve.

With nearly two million removals in the last five years, the Obama administration is deporting people at a faster pace than has taken place under any other president. This enormously costly effort was meant to win Republican support for broader reform. But all it has done is add to the burden of fear, family disruption and lack of opportunity faced by 11 million people who cannot get right with the law. Because of Mr. Obama’s enforcement blitz, more than 5,000 children have ended up in foster care.

The NY Slimes, the paper that warned Castro of the impending Bay of pigs invasion and many other US military actions, and incredibly that rag of treason is still operating.

Immigration reform like affordable healthcare has a pleasant, non threatening title but it is a program that is intended to destroy the foundations of this country. The zombie low information voters will be the first to be hurt badly, Calderon is running education programs in Mexico for his illegals in all trades of employment so they are prepared to earn a living when they cross over, these are low wage earners who will also put the high paid union trade people out of business

The boys and girls at the New Yawn Slimes are still rooting for the day when whitey is finally the minority in America ...

What makes this all the more confusing is that most of the NYT writers are white. They'll notice what they've done when they get mugged by reality 20 years down the road. Until then, they're living in liberal dream-land.

Re: “Neo-nativist Republicans fixated on mass deportation have blocked a worthy bipartisan bill.”

That is the exact comment written by the New York Times “Editorial Board.”

And yet, our GOP leadership continues to give exclusive stories to the NYT and continues to publish exclusive editorials on the NYT editorial pages.

We are no longer the “stupid party.”

We are the “mentally deranged” party.

Arrested for crimes, then released - California.

Link: http://news.msn.com/crime-justice/ap-exclusive-california-immigration-holds-drop

“Far fewer immigrants arrested by California law enforcement are being turned over to federal authorities for deportation since a new state law went into effect in January.”

“Alameda County Sheriff Greg Ahern is president of the California State Sheriffs’ Association, which opposed the Trust Act. He estimated the number of people in his county booked into jails and turned over to ICE has fallen about 70 percent this year.”

“Ahern expressed concern about who is being freed. “Common sense will tell you people who are violating the law and taken into custody many times are responsible for unrelated crimes,” he said.”

Re: “I forget who reported it.....”

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS.org) broke the story on false deportation numbers at least four months ago.

So, what did the MSM do?

They ignored it, and they cover stories about La Raza calling Obama the “Deporter-In-Chief.”

Shocked by the comments of the liberals on this editorial, almost all of which savage the Times editorial board for being clueless about illegal immigration. I am surprised how many progressives hate obama's immigration reform ideas.

I am going to check them out!
