Sen. Chuck Schumer, New York Democrat, said Monday that he thinks Congress still has a chance to pass immigration reform before the end of 2014.
Most people are for immigration reform. Most Republicans, theyre in the vote-no, pray-yes caucus, they want it to pass as long as they dont have to vote for it, he said on MSNBC. I still think we have a chance to pass it this year.

SPECIAL COVERAGE: Immigration Reform
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While many tea party lawmakers are against reform, Mr. Schumer said GOP leadership in the House supports moving legislation forward. Waiting until June or July, when most of the tea party primaries are over, could be the best time for Congress to work on immigration reform, especially since itll be important in 2016 for Republicans.
The leadership of the caucus realizes one thing, they wont do it in 2015, Mr. Schumer said. And [not doing it] most certainly means theyre going to lose in 2016.
On Morning Joe, Mr. Schumer also talked about Democrats use of anti-Koch brothers messaging to help in the midterm elections. While many have criticized Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, for repeatedly bringing them up on the floor and even blaming the situation in Russia on them, Mr. Schumer said he believes the message will work in November.
If its our only strategy, well lose. We have to have a positive agenda, thats what our fair shot is. But we also need to have a shield, he said. I think the Koch brothers will work.

WATCH FOR THIS CAREFULLY~!!
I heard a brand new term yesterday (twice)
Obama called 2014 his “year of action”
I sense that they see 2014 elections as a disaster and are moving to put things in place BEFORE then!!!!!
I suspect Senator Schumer is right about the part that many Republicans want it (amnesty) but are afraid to vote for it. Why? Because Schumer was LYING about the other part. Most Americans do NOT support amnesty.
Senator Schummer is another of those that needs to perform a vital service & disappear from “public service”.
Isn't it nice that Schumer is helping the GOP with their election strategy?
Especially since Schumer was chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2009.
By Republicans in my previous post, I meant Republican leaders—not the rank and file who obviously oppose amnesty. This is one of those issues where Republican leaders need to listen to the base.
Do not pass amnesty. Democrats don’t follow current law. Do you think they’ll follow any new law? No. They’ll only follow the parts they support and ignore the rest—just like they’re doing right now with a slew of other laws.
There's nothing Democratic about it.
The legislators have lost contact with the people who HIRED them. They listen to the lobbyist who promises them the largest kickbacks. They waste too much time having their asses kissed at lavish Washington parties. If they want parties, let them hold them in Community centers and church basements. Maybe they will listen to their constituents when they have to face them.
The motto for leftists like Schumer and Jeb is keep illegal immigration alive, even if it kills the US.
Amnesty will never be dead. We will have to fight it on and on into perpetuity.
Not with the Bushes pimping for it.
I truly like GWB; but likeabilty doesn’t make for a good President when the policies are as bone-headed as their current immigration policy is.
We have to start contacting Washington once again to fight against amnesty.
On a personal level the Bushes are fine people. But so are most of my neighbors. That doesn’t mean they would make a good president. I wouldn’t want to see MYSELF in the White House.
Slimey despicable cretan
