ST. PAUL, Minn.—Minnesota's minimum wage would rise to $9.50 per hour within a few years and continue going up unless a governor's administration applied the brakes, according to terms of an agreement announced Monday. The outline described by leaders of the House and Senate resolves one of the biggest remaining standoffs in a session on course for an early adjournment. The wage legislation could move through both Democratic-led chambers this week; it was scheduled for a Senate vote on Wednesday. Gov. Mark Dayton said he would sign the bill.

Maryland passed a minimum wage to 10.10 last night, but it won’t be 10.10 until 2018….heck by then it will be worth 7.25. It drives me crazy when they think they are doing something good and people actually believe it. We have some dumb voters.

How can ANYONE raise a family on $9.50 per hour.

The Democrats should be THROWN IN JAIL for supporting SLAVE WAGES. We need a LIVING WAGE, and NOW.

(that would be my comment, if I could find a local newspaper to post it in...say what they really think, even if they know enough not to)

The rats are already taking credit for “giving the poor a raise”.

“The rats are already taking credit for “giving the poor a raise”.”

GET LOST!! A raise? What, so they can buy one more slice of bread a month? We need a LIVING WAGE. A wage that provides DIGNITY and no more need for food stamps, public housing and every thing else!

So it needs to be AT LEAST $20 per hour. Yea, that will boost the poor people into the middle class, and END POVERTY AS WE KNOW IT!!!

So let’s do it!! Yes we can!!

(this is fun...being a liberal for a day)

If that’s the case, use my material to out-liberal them. Let the reasonable people understand that there is no end, and that it only gets worse, as you cave to them.

Heartless bastards. Why not make it $10.50 per hour?

I don’t get this push to raise the minimum wage. At all.

America lost millions of jobs, when American companies “went global”, moving out to cheaper job markets all around the world.

Now they are pretty much moved out. America continues for some odd reason (not) to punish companies who have departed with higher taxes on imports, so they don’t return jobs here.

Yet we are going to make it ever MORE EXPENSIVE to hire Americans?

Lost in all the discussions involving the minimum wage issue is the rightful argument that governments should have no say in what a private company pays their employees. Lawmakers just seem to accept that government intrusion into the business of private companies is okay.

I got into a discussion with a former democrat representative, and it amazed me (or I shouldn’t be) how he did not understand how that raising minimum wage would increase prices of commodities. He just believed the companies would “suck it up.” I’m just astounded at the lack of knowledge these people have.

What don’t you get?

To create the perfect Utopian society the left always promises everyone, they first have to destroy the old.

The value of the dollar has decreased by 38.8% since 2002. Given his disastrous economy, that devaluation will reach 45% by the time Obumbles leaves office. No wonder this economy is up on blocks and the Middle Class is disappearing.

The value of the dollar has decreased by 38.8% since 2002.

Average price gallon gas 2002 $1.36, today $3.44
Average price loaf bread 2002 $1.01, today $1.39
Average price dozen eggs 2002 $1.03, today $1.99
Average price ground beef 2002 $2.28, today $3.55
Average price kWh electricity 2002 $.09, today $.13
Average monthly cable TV bill 2002 $34.71, today $78
Average tuition cost 4 year public college 2002 $5213, today $8890

Meanwhile our governing elites tell us that inflation is low and we should be happy with 1% rates on CD’s.

My first job paid less then $8/hr working in a plant. It was never going to pay more. I found jobs elsewhere including moving out of state. I am paid much more now as I have learned YOU have to better yourself.

BTW the company I had worked at agreed with the union to a 2 tier pay system. As soon as it was signed the firings began.
Now with obamacare your 40 hour a week job will be 29 hours.

My first job paid $2.00/hr. Much like you, I kept clawing and scratching. I’ve never had a union job.

As my late Father always said...”Unions are the great society of mediocrity.”

Trust me when I ran into people there who would try to pull the next guy down if that person had an opportunity to get ahead.
