Huckabee endorses Lankford in Oklahoma

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) is endorsing Rep. James Lankford (R-Okla.), giving him a potential boost with social conservatives in his Senate primary.

"The servant leadership of James Lankford is a rarity in Washington. The idea of always being accountable, putting others first, and keeping faith in a faithless town isn't easy, but James maintains his integrity while representing Oklahoma in Congress. It is obvious that James is working to revive our great nation for the next generation of Americans," Huckabee said in a release from Lankford's campaign. Lankford is facing Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon (R) in the primary to replace retiring Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla). Shannon is trying to run to Lankford's right and has locked up endorsements from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) and the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Huckabee's working with McConnell to get establishment candidates elected, or to stop the advance of Tea Party candidates, which amounts to the same thing.

I find this interesting…the GOPe is using Huckster to apparently get at least some of the social cons to blindly join the GOPe candidates…..while absolutely fighting tooth and nail against all the small govt conservatives. Very interesting times we live in….(and not in a good way)

Yep!

And it’s really tough too because I myself have talked to some of these social Conservatives here in Oklahoma and they are COMPLETELY blinded by Lankford.

Some of them are choosing to ignore his record even though it stands in stark contrast to what they support.

It's the Santuckabee voter - no interest whatsoever in issues of liberty and The Constitution and property - only obsessed on two, maybe three, social only issues. They aggrevate me to no end. Lot of Freepers in this camp sadly. They don't see that big government will ultimately doom the very issues they care about, and they criticize those of us who see that as being corrupted by "mammon" and all kinds of other rubbish. They will vote us to our doom.

Absolutely! Shannon is the man for this year! I think Palin’s endorsement scared them to death. They’re working very hard to get their men into office (because their men will vote for Mitch). Huckabee is a Mitch stand-in.

Just remember Huckabee gave us Akin in Missouri, and even blessed him after his royal f-up to keep him in the race. Most of the grassroots conservatives endorsed another candidate that would not have imploded. Huckabee is a disaster with his endorsements. He gets a few right, but he pulls social cons to establishment big government types much of the time , or splits votes in multicandidate primaries.

Exactly.

One Lankford supporter in particular I talked to.. and this is how the conversation went. In fact I copy and pasted it.

"Lankford supporter" I will be voting for lankford.

Me is there a specific reason you like him? you realize he is the more liberal candidate in the race?

Lankford supporter I have met him and I like his Christian life.

Me Christian life and believing in God is extremely important. I understand you like him. But I, as a Conservative Christian, have very big concerns about him being Oklahoma's Senator. Obamacare, Amnesty, The Budget, I do not support amnesty for illegal immigrants in any way, shape or form

Lankford Supporter Neither do I and i don't think Lankford does either.

Me he supports Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants. I will show you the news article and the quote
Lankford supports amnesty article
"I wouldn't prohibit forever" people from getting citizenship, said Rep. James Lankford, R-Okla. "I'm a Christian, and restitution and reconciliation's a big deal. If you do something illegal or inappropriate you should be able to resolve that, face the penalty, clear it and be forgiven."

Lankford supporter I was in politics when younger and realize these type smears happen.

Me There is no smear. This is a direct quote attributed to James Lankford saying he supports Amnesty. "I wouldn't prohibit forever" people from getting citizenship, said Rep. James Lankford, R-Okla.

Lankford supporter I will continue supporting him

“Huckabee’s working with McConnell to get establishment candidates elected, or to stop the advance of Tea Party candidates, which amounts to the same thing.”
*******************************************************************

The Huckster Huckabee is indeed a despicable, devious and duplicitous character who does all he can to harm the Tea Party and other conservatives. His endorsement of a GOPe candidate here is all part of that.

T. W. Shannon is the Tea Party conservative who the Senate’s Conservative Fund (SCF) has endorsed in this primary. This cycle the SCF is making sure it thoroughly vets potential candidates to determine their conservative bona fides. And, before any final endorsement is made, the SCF conducts some training to make sure the candidate knows how to deal with the mainstream media which will attempt to lay traps and otherwise try to “sandbag” conservative candidates.

T. W. Shannon will make a great Senator and will provide badly needed reinforcement for Ted Cruz and other Senate conservatives.

... the GOPe is using Huckster to apparently get at least some of the social cons to blindly join the GOPe candidates ... while absolutely fighting tooth and nail against all the small govt conservatives.

The adage ... Politics makes strange bedfellows, was never more true!

The gOpe turns to the Huckster for social conservative 'cred'. Hysterical. TokyoRove is obviously desperate. He is in full FlopSweat over Ted Cruz, and the many like-minded Senatorial candidates whom he has inspired.

I think it's great that the lines are being drawn early and very clear as to who is on who's side. With this, it shows that 'Santuckabee' has been bought and has thrown in with Rove/McConnell because they are scared to death of the impending doom of .... Majority Leader Cruz, following the November, 2014 elections ... which will inevitably lead to POTUS frontrunner in 2016.
