John Kerry Defends His Diplomatic Efforts: ‘I May Fail – I Don’t Care’

By Ali Weinberg Apr 8, 2014 4:03pm

Appearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State John Kerry defiantly defended his diplomatic efforts, saying that while ambitious, they were better than doing nothing.

While the purpose of Tuesday’s hearing was to pick through the State Department’s budget, it was Kerry’s record that came under scrutiny as his old colleagues on the committee accused him of taking on too many responsibilities with too few results.

“I think you’re about to hit the trifecta,” Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told Kerry, naming three of the most complicated issues Kerry took on: the humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Iranian nuclear program and the Middle East peace talks.

Kerry said McCain gave a “premature judgment about the failure of everything,” and noted, on Middle East talks, that the Israelis and Palestinians were still at the negotiating table.

“It’s stopped. It is stopped. Recognize reality,” McCain curtly told his former colleague.

Kerry invited McCain and other critics to lay blame at his feet.

“Sure, we may fail. And you want to dump it on me? I may fail. I don’t care. It’s worth doing. It’s worth the effort,” he said.

Earlier in the hearing, Kerry rejected a claim by Sen. Jim Risch that American foreign policy was “spinning out of control” and listed some of what he said were clear successes around the world.

Doesn’t this just wrap up liberalism perfectly?

It may fail, it may be disastrous, it may kill 100 million people, but at least we did ‘something.’

... “premature judgment about the failure of everything”...

Name one success, Lurch.

If that were permitted LBJ would be washed out of his little plot within days.

Sometimes doing nothing is the best course of action.

Name one success, Lurch.

Hey, Ted Cassidy aka Lurch had many a success long after his best known roll and was a good man.

John Kerry on the other hand should have been Court Martialed for giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war and sentenced to Reduction to E-1. He should have been busting rocks at Leavenworth until the war ended and then given a Dishonorable Discharge upon release after every POW arrived to spit in his Communist sympathizing face.

He can and will fail but will be declared a success by himself and the American people, too uninformed to know the difference.

“Ah, but the rice in my ass. That’s where I had them. I know now they were just covering up for some fellow officer. And I would have produced that rice if only they’d...” Uh, what’s that? Plagerism, you say? Herman Woulk be damned. I’m a democrat. “..But they went around scoffing at me. I was responsible for Whatshisname’s poor seamanship. They want to go around with their shirttails hanging out, that’s alright. Let them....”

No kidding. It's all about the process, not about accomplishing the stated goals. The "goals" are lies to provide cover for the left to continue on with the struggling victimhood ruse... while always being generous with other people's money.

Misery, chaos, destruction. It's what they live for. Normal people view success as the satisfaction in making real improvements e.g. making something whole and complete, more functional, less time-consuming, etc. IOW, the types of goals that engender order, contentment and peace because they work in the real world.

The left not only hates those kinds of people, it despises their world - the natural order of reality and truth. Deceivers pretend to hold to the normal definitions of words in order to worm in and rot a peaceful, sincere society out from the middle.

Talk about a mindset that is fundamentally dishonest, manipulative, and corrupt.

Kerry reveals what we already knew - that the left's motives have nothing to do with peace and order or love for humanity. It's all about the self-serving interests of I-I-I me-me-me. The gods of liberalism really do appear to move and speak. That's because they watch them in their mirrors.

He proved his lack of concern when he advocated for the North Vietnamese during the war. Why he and Fonda did not walk the big thirteen steps up to the rope is beyond me.
