No floaters, MIA. Coopers Hawk, Blue Heron or fox. Those are the only predators I’ve seen and not since the ice melted.

Probably not a hawk or fox or raccoon. They’re surface fishers, around the edges. Most likely a Blue Heron or White Egret. They can and will easily take the deeper water.
One option is to net-over the pond, but if one of the critters gets caught in it, you have a real problem.
Another option is to use goldfish and sacrifice some to critters who will visit. It happens.
Water gardens and ponds are an attraction for wildlife of all kinds, so I’m guessing the previous owners had to re-stock the pond occasionally as it was slowly ‘depleted’. Goldfish are a lot cheaper to replace than Koi.

Shubunkins, Red & Yellow Comets are a more affordable alternative to Koi, or a nice addition to any pond with existing Koi.
