In testimony before the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday, Eric Holder offered an alarming new doctrine for the Republic: laws are only suggestions, and the real authority to enforce or not enforce them lies in the hands of the president and his cabinet officers. (snip) There is a vast amount of discretion that a president has — and more specifically that an attorney general has,” Holder responded. “But that discretion has to be used in an appropriate way so that your acting consistent with the aims of the statute but at the same time making sure that you are acting in

The corrupt Black Panther Holder not only chooses
what Laws he wants to enforce,
but also selectively applies them only to crackers.

Breaking laws apparently now counts as “discretion.”

Attorney General Eric Holder exploded at Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert during a House hearing Tuesday.

In the midst of questions about the Justice Department’s failure to divulge documents about the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, Gohmert made a side comment about how the House of Representatives found Holder in contempt in 2012 for refusing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious gun-running scandal.

“I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight,” Gohmert said.

“You don’t want to go there, buddy! You don’t want to go there, okay,” Holder shot back.

“I don’t want to go there?” the Texas Republican responded.

“No,” Holder said, leaning forward in his seat.

That’s a mighty large amount of leeway. Why bother writing or following the laws at all?

Why not just disband Congress. Frankly, they are for the most part worthless anyway, and the money could be spent on entitlements for the people...

I think that we have come so far that a circle has been made!

The President breaks the law by deciding to change the laws made by Congress!

The DOJ breaks the laws by deciding which laws to uphold!

The result is that we are now lawless! The old rule about us being a law abiding nation now depends upon who is elected. Heaven help us!

If we have elections in two years;

and, if we elect a decent President with at least a minimum of testosterone;

And, if the various statutes of limitation have not run;

I hope that this insolent son of the Third World is arrested, tried and convicted.

If both are not then a lawless nation is assured! Would love to see that outcome though! Way past time for Government to get away with outlaw actions!

I sure hope that this is not a president changing laws passed that the administration does not agree with! Ignore laws you don’t like and change those that you disagree with! If that continues, we will no longer have a Republic but we will have a new government not elected or expected by the people!! Slow changes seem to take us by surprise still!

Yes, Obamacare was a slow process to provide the poor with Health Insurance and became a method for the Democrats (Socialists) to gain control! Slow but sure is their motto I’d assume. Either way, the public loses! Actually just another part of the handbook.

So does this apply to local District Attorney’s? Suppose they don’t support certain laws, such as laws which infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of citizens. Shouldn’t they have as much discretion as Holder, and shouldn’t they have the same right to ignore laws they disagree with?
