RedState Follows TruthRevolt's Lead, Blocks Users of Firefox
Truth Revolt ^ | 4/8/2014 | Jeremy Boreing

Posted on 04/08/2014 6:54:33 PM PDT by markomalley

On Tuesday the powerful conservative website RedState joined the movement - started last Thursday by this publication - to protest Mozilla's decision to force out its CEO Brendan Eich over a personal donation he made over six years ago to a pro-traditional marriage campaign by blocking users of the company's hit web-browser Firefox.

Visitors to the site were re-directed to a landing page where they were informed that RedState found itself in conflict with the values of Mozilla and suggesting other alternative browsers.

"... we wanted to remind people that the totalitarian impulse of the Mozilla corporation is real, and if you haven’t been Made to Care yet, you will be soon."

Under the leadership of the formidable Erick Erickson, RedState is a leader in the conservative movement, and their action against Firefox will be felt at Mozilla. RedState's move comes on the same day that another conservative powerhouse, Dennis Prager, joined the call for a boycott of the company.

TruthRevolt's original decision to block Firefox users was designed to mirror the effort by the dating site OkCupid, whose declaration that Eich and all opponents of gay marriage are their "enemies" led directly to Mozilla's decision to force Eich out.  While the effort helped lead to the worst customer feedback in Mozilla's history, no apology has been made for the company's handling of the situation.

Sweet, this thing is getting the legs it deserves.

Rush better jump on board soon, or he is going to look like an also-ran, or worse.

The OkCupid site should suffer the consequences of their actions - stupid as they were. I’m really getting tired of these kind of creep shows though - just stop visiting these sites! It’s easy to do ya know... Not sure why any Conservative would ever visit this site anyway...

Truthrevolt is obviously self-serving. Pathetic.

Explain the self-serving assertion.

Winning this battle will send a powerful message concerning the strength of Conservative and Christian consumers.

Our foe is weak and wounded already. This is an extremely winnable battle if we can stay focused on taking down Mozilla.

Really, RedState Conservative? Who are they kidding! Just another Liberal Republican site trying to push their opinion.

Sorry, but RedState has long ago lost their Conservative ideals but of course they are still for Liberal Republicans (We call them RINO’S)!

“Is there one thing computer related that is “conservatively correct” Very little of what is here at our fingertips was created or controlled by conservative thinking people”

I was thinking the exact same thing...

Why are there no high tech firms that are conservative leaning?

Does conservative mean not-creative?

Does anyone have a clue as to why this reality exists?

Is it that most conservatives are older while most high tech firms are populated by young kids who naturally tend to be liberal?

And if so what can we do about it?

It also blocks PaleMoon, which is not Mozilla but shares a lot of coding. Thanks...

Somehow, I don’t see adopting Google Chrome as a blow for freedom!

Why do companies lean left?

Isn’t this the perfect example of why?

The left goes for the kill the other side wants to play nice.

Blocking browsers is about as dumb as a conservative calling his website "Red".

This accomplishes nothing.

No, but Chromium should be acceptable.
