Wow - great site - memories from my childhood (the CLAW!!!).

My lifetime brush with greatness was sitting near Greg & Verne Gagne at a Minneapolis area Shakey’s Pizza...

That certainly sums it up. When hearing of Randy “Macho Man” Poffo’s passing a few years ago, it saddened me. Although it had been many years since I watched pro wrestling, there was something comforting knowing that he was still out there somewhere. And, so goes the “Ultimate Warrior” now. Left are the memories of a great time of my life. Godspeed and RIP.

Ken Patera was the uncle of a friend of mine growing up in Minnesota. He happened by the house when I was there - his thighs were as large as my waist! (Of course, I was probably 12 at the time!)

Sorry for the loss and all. But I have to say this.

I’m really glad that I don’t know who this, or any other ‘wrestler’ is.

Sorry, but it is the most retarded type of entertainment possible. No wonder they die so young feeding the need for phoniness for people.

And you guys wonder why the loons on the left label us heartless. Good job guys.

Btw, he was a human being, with a wife and children.

Compassion goes a long way in this life.

My future step-son is a “rasslin” nut. He had that show recorded and was watching it earlier tonight when his mom and I walked in. I had to question at first if it was indeed him. He looked really bad for only 54. Appeared to be hard for him to walk-like his knees wouldn’t bend or something. He must have been really sick.
RIP.

You do realize that much of what is called entertainment is fake, right? Do you get this upset and call actors retarded and phony when you realize that the movie you just watched wasn’t real? People watch professional wrestling the way that others watch movies, live theater, operas, or ballet. It is all performance art. These wrestlers are actors.

And if someone close to you passed, who didn’t work in a profession of your approval...would you send a sympathy card to the family or a general disagreement letter with their choice of work?

Btw- the most “retarded” and phony entertainment work transpires in D.C. everyday. Except those disgusting people, actually, hurt people.

Couldn’t agree more. This was a human being, and if one has nothing good to say then there is no need to say it.

I miss Randy Savage. I’ve been had enough of Hulk Hogan with his headscarves. I would have thought by now, Hogan would have accepted his baldness, but it takes a huge ego to be that kind of entertainer, so his vanity is consistent with the typical star attraction personality.

What a strange tragedy that is. The families who need psychoanalysis the most usually never seek it. This is like something that Tolstoy would have created as a novel or maybe a rock opera.
