A caveat right off the bat: RANDs estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. Theres no way to reconcile that with RANDs data.
One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact.
Theres a big spike in Medicaid, just as everyone expected. Theres a less big but still seven-digit drop in coverage on the individual market, as people discovered that if you like your plan, you might not be able to keep it. Theres not quite four million sign-ups on the new ObamaCare exchanges, not seven million and change like Obama insisted in the Rose Garden. And then theres that eye-popping ESI category. Thats employer-sponsored insurance, the sort of coverage that 100 million people already have through their jobs. Er, why would eight million people have suddenly gained that type of coverage last year when the U.S. labor force assuredly didnt expand by eight million? Good question. Says RAND:
Some of these newly insured individuals may have taken up an employer plan as a result of the incentive created by the individual mandate; others may have newly found a job. The U.S. unemployment rate fell slightly between September 2013 and March 2014, so part of the increase in ESI enrollment could have been due to economic recovery rather than the ACA. While the 8.2-million-person increase seems large, more than 100 million 18- to 64-year-olds were covered by ESI in 2013....

signed up. now how many paid? 10-20%?
What is that? One percent of the US population?
Lemme guess, Obama is inflating the Obamacare count with people who only have log-in accounts.
For the next 7 months, if you want insurance you can’t buy it. Does anyone know where someone that is healthy can get coverage?
Jawohl, mein BlackenWhitenFuhrer!
Gosh - nobody can figure out why the "ordinary Germans" did nothing while the legal government of Germany legally executed all those Jews, and cripples, and all the other undesirables...
The Religious Alternative To Obamacare’s Individual Mandate
Christian alternative to ObamaCare growing fast as deadline nears
Obama lying again ...... Imagine that !
Some DEMAND lies, others tolerate them, but more look the other way...
It’s beer and football.. maybe some pizza..... generally..
Most will think about health care tomorrow.. if at all..

Like Mark Levin said.... OBAMA-CARE “is” THE REVOLUTION...
It’s a political DRUG... The Opiate of the voting class..
America is drugged out of it’s mind.. political heroin..
Yeah, and maybe giant monkeys will fly out of my butt.
This just can’t be true! I watched about 5 minutes of SNL Saturday, the most in several years, and they were making fun of FOX News for doubting Obamacare numbers.
Oh well, not that anybody watches a bunch of government stooges anymore....
Well... I’m one of them and I’m pretty pissed off about it. I retired early two years ago, at age 50. That’s not to say I will never work again, but I’m not actively looking and I’m not on unemployment. Until last December I had a Blue Cross policy that I liked just fine. It was a bit more than I wished, but it was affordable enough. It was essentially a catastrophic policy. Worked for me. It covered the doctors I wanted and the hospitals I needed.
Obamacare killed it. Forced me to go on the WA state exchange to find an “approved” plan. Funny thing is, I now have virtually no income. I have plenty of assets (7 figures+) that I live on for now, but they didn’t ask me about that. All they wanted to know was my income. So I filled out the form and used real numbers. My ONLY option was AppleCare (WA Medicaid). No other choices.
Just for giggles I tried some other options... If I lied and said I had more income I could have gotten choices like Blue Cross... But at prices that were truly astronomical. Crazy prices... Seven, eight hundred, even a thousand a month. Though— with the promise that these would be ameliorated by subsidies from Obamacare. Well... What’s the difference then? Getting a subsidy or just getting Medicaid?
So there it sits. I’m getting Medicaid. It scares the crap outta me. I’m terrified of actually getting sick and needing it. Can I just tell them when they’re wheeling me into the ER that I have plenty of money to pay for what I need? I hope so.
Do I feel guilty for taking Medicaid? Yes, a little. I’ve long prided myself on being a “maker” and not a “taker”. In the Atlas Shrugged sort of sense. But the Ragnar Danneskjold in me is fine with taking back from the looters some of the many hundreds of thousands of dollars I’ve paid in taxes.
Wow, thanks for that. Real interesting read at the link you provided.
We all know by now that the truth means nothing at all to this regime. They make up phony numbers and toss them out for their willing minions in the media to run with. Then the shitheads in the MSM will act like anyone who questions the numbers are the ones to blame for Obama’s failures.
That’s how it works these days in our communist run govt and media.
Dude, that’s gonna hurt. Get it looked at.
You mean obammy lied?
Hard to believe.
Just another LIE (7.1 million) that the MSM will not cover.
I don’t think the founding fathers foresaw a propaganda machine like the MSM ever existing.
